The irony of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is that he claims to be the champion of outsiders, yet he is as conventional a politician as you will find. For starters, hes got two Ivy League degrees and worked outside government (Senate, Texas solicitor general, Bush 43 staffer, court clerk) for a fraction of his adult life (less than 30 percent or five of 18 years).
He is as much a cause of partisan gridlock and dysfunction as anyone, taking joy in riling up the base and blaming liberal elites, fanning the flames of anti-immigrant sentiment (both his own determination to label any bill upsetting talk radio hysterics amnesty and in fawning over Donald Trump). Alabama Gov. George Wallace was playing much the same game in the 1960s.
But Cruzs most insider-like quality is the art of saying whatever is needed to get GOP primary voters support. He is going to vie for libertarians votes. But he has also presented himself as Reaganesque on foreign policy. The two, of course, are widely different propositions....

She needs larger panties that don’t bunch up.
Turdmuffin logic don’t add up.
Partisan gridlock is the only thing saving us from them (besides the guns. LOL)
I’d rather elect some guy, pay his salary & benefits for life if he promised he would STOP legislating/screwing with the taxpaying citizens.
My ideal candidate would go to DC, party with his fellow elected scumbags & never DO anything. It sure would be a lot cheaper!
It’s the DOING that has messed everything up.
What motivates someone like Rubin? After all the evidence available that their brand of politician is flaccid, unetfectice, worse than worthless they still have all this energy to try to sabotage those who offer something different.
Sen. Cruz: The Real Story of What Is Happening in Washington
“He is as much a cause of partisan gridlock...”
Partisan gridlock isn’t an issue. Partisan gridlock is a spectre that is only raised by the uniparty who wants to ram things through that the American people don’t want.
They fear Ted. You can smell it.
Can’t be riling up the peasants now can we, Jen?
I love partisan gridlock. It means a bunch of RINO legislation never gets passed. I’m with Rush I love a Congress that never meets. LOL!
Higher praise is hard to fathom, and that is why he has my unwavering support. While the rest of the GOPe was busy advancing the liberal platform by funding Obama care, funding planned parenthood, giving tax dollars to Iran to fund terrorism, working to pass amnesty, destroying our defense, growing government, expanding the debt, applauding Obama's unconstitutional use of executive orders, one senator was doing everything he legally could to oppose the Obama agenda.
Wonder why liberal media can’t seem to get enough space in their columns to print the “illegal”?
Always a good sign when the lamestream media starts to ramp up their attacks against a conservative candidate.
I love the smell of liberal flop sweat in the morning. It smells like victory.
She’s a random article generator.
If only the GOPe media surrogates spent as much time and venom on Obama and the ‘Rats as they do trashing conservatives.
When the gOpee tries to attack Ted, from the RIGHT(?!), you know it is all FLOP SWEAT! FAIL
But why would they?
Cruz is no good, Trump is no good. Gee, I wonder who she hopes will rebound in the polls.

She is an editorialist and commentator who gets paid by the word. Between writing, she attends NE media elite cocktail parties and thinks she poops ice cream.
The NE media elite is nothing more than kabuki theater, where everyone plays a part which may or may not reflect their real life positions.
They should give an award out to the media and call it the George Will award, for liberal who best impersonates a conservative. My bet for 2015 would be Krauthammer in a runaway.
