Reuters: Trump, Bush Locked in Dead Heat; Rubio Sinks to Tenth Place

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Real estate magnate and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has skyrocketed to Republican frontrunner status, as a new poll from Reuters/Ipsos has Trump tied for first place with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. The rest of the pack is far behind them.

Trump pulled in 15.8 percent, compared to Bush’s 16.1 percent in the poll of 404 self-identified Republicans taken from July 6 to July 10. Since the poll’s credibility interval is 5.7 percent, that puts both Bush and Trump in a league of their own atop the field as the next best candidate, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who doesn’t even break 10 percent.

What’s perhaps most interesting is that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has begun sinking heavily in the polls, as he’s well behind most of the Republican candidates—he’s now in tenth place, well out of contention—clocking in at just 3.9 percent in this poll...

They push him to get the nomination, then they destroy him to lose to Hilary. The left-wing media do it every single time. They did it to McCain. They did it to Romney. We have to do everything possible to make sure that Jeb Bush or anyone like him does NOT get the nomination. It's gotta be a conservative this time.

Yeah, well if they want to vote for a pantload they couldn’t go wrong with either Jeb or Chrissy.

“Bush hasn’t a prayer. Jeb is the Bob Dole/John McCain loser type of candidate all the way.”

Bush is the GOP-e selectee to graciously lose to Hillary. That way — the GOP-e hopes — Hillary’s administration won’t bring down the hammer on them when she takes power.

And if Trump is allowed into the debates, do you know what’s gonna happen?

He will blow them out of the water.

I say this not as a politician. I say this as a man who has watched America slide, well actually fall, from grace all these years.

Trump has a rare quality - very rare. Made rare indeed by exactly what he was talking about, how NO POLITICIAN HAS BALLS to say what he wants, they only do the bidding of their donors.

Trump says it. And he says it in normal, high school/college language that most Americans agree with.

And he doesn’t cater to anybody.

And he doesn’t mind telling them that!

I have mixed feelings on Rubio dropping to the bottom. He’s a pro-Amnesty big government liberal, and I would be relieved to know he won’t be our candidate. However, I’d like to see him split the RINO vote with Bush and Christie so they don’t win either.

He’s leading in Iowa. He’s in a great position to run the table if he debates well. He’s enacted more conservative reforms than anyone running...possibly withe the exception of Jindal.

I hope Cruz can hold on to the 9th spot, it’s good to see Marco’s stock finally go down though.

San Diego voted Obama in 2008 and 2012 ...

Yes, much like the rest of the nation SD fell for ruse that voting for a man based on the amount of melanin in his skin would matter.

And SD has leaned more democRAT lately; I believe they outnumber those registered as GOP. But many of those RATs tend to lean conservative.
