Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz defended Donald Trump on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning.
When it comes to Donald Trump, I like Donald Trump. I think hes terrific. I think hes brash. I think he speaks the truth, Cruz said.
In the outspoken billionaires presidential run announcement, Trump made a variety of controversial comments, some of which were aimed at immigrants. Theyre bringing drugs, theyre bringing crime, theyre rapists, and some I assume are good people, but I speak to border guards, and they tell us what we are getting, he said in his speech June 16.
NBC said it would no longer be airing Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, both of which are co-owned by Trump.
Following NBCs statement, Trump released a statement of his own. NBC is weak, and like everybody else is trying to be politically correct that is why our country is in serious trouble. Donald Trump will be suing NBC for a breach of contract.
Cruz said NBC is engaging in political correctness that is silly and that is wrong.
I dont think you should apologize for speaking out against the problem that is illegal immigration. I recognize that the PC world of the mainstream media, they dont want to admit it, but the American people are fed up, he said. Donald Trump is exactly right to highlight the need to crack down on illegal immigration.
Ted Cruz went on to credit Trump for focusing on an issue that needs to be focused on.(continued)

Well done Ted.

I would go for a Trump/Cruz ticket with full force.
Money+Brains is a powerful combination.
Such odd pairings have occurred in the past.
Unity Ticket.
Saw him on Morning Joe this morning. He did great. Unruffled when that idiot Barnacle tried to goad him.
I sent Ted 100 even though he pissed me off on TPA. He is handling things really well.
Except the brains should be in the driver's seat, and there is no way Trump, with absolutely ZERO political experience, is that man.
My belief is that Donald Trump is building a powerful base of support to become the kingmaker of the next election. I am not convinced he wants to be president himself, but rather have strong influence on the ultimate candidate and hopefully next president. If you look at how he engaged in 2012, he played a similar yet less powerful role.
Ted Cruz has great political instincts and generally great brains and he sees that. He doesn’t run away when things get hot. Trump will respect that. Very smart move by the senator.

with absolutely ZERO political experience, is that man.

Money managment is a top part of being President, imo.
lol!
Good one!
So are you saying the brains of the administration should be the treasurer and not the president?
Reagan pretty much hated to trash any other Republican.
Even a RINO can serve a very useful purpose, if only to ask uncomfortable questions or otherwise harass the opposition
Nope, The one that could put all that together should be the president and
a president knows how to manage many items, including money.
Ted knows not to mess with the Donald’s ego!!!!! The Donald has VERY DEEP pockets stroking his ego is a great way to get into those pockets!!!!
Frankly the Donald’s voice in this election is VERY MUCH needed, I for one am VERY glad to FINALLY see someone NOT backtrack on their words!!!!!!
Many items you say? Compared to Ted Cruz, Trump is a political infant. Are you saying that among those "many items" you claim Trump knows how to manage, things political are among them? If so, where did he gain this knowledge?
“...stroking his ego is a great way ..”
You know something...I get the impression with Cruz that it’s not about that at all.
I get the impression he’s just a classy guy who understands what “One Team, One Fight” means, and who the real enemy is.
I think he appreciates someone speaking their mind, instead of speaking out of two sides of their face.
I might be wrong, but that’s what I see on the face of it.
Sometimes you need a stranger to walk in and rearrange the furniture and practices.
Repetition gets in its own way sometimes and needs to be reorganized. JMO
And that is what you want for president?
btw...this is how little Trump knows of American politics, which is probably less than the average 8th grader. He endorsed Mitch McConnell for SPEAKER of the senate. Nice choice for president there, deport. Note, this was less than 1 year ago.
Yep, that tramp Trump would be a disaster for sure.
