The Hill reports:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) will headline the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention this month, joining a pair of other potential presidential candidate[s] also weighing bids to enter the 2016 field. . . . The roster of speakers also includes former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), who ran for president in 2012, and Ben Carson, the Tea Party favorite and former neurosurgeon whos debating entering the fray.
Its not uncommon for Cruz to play to this sort of crowd. He is a favorite among the most conservative members of the GOP, where he doles out one-liners (Abolish the IRS!) and is never compelled to provide actual solutions to nettlesome problems like health care, defense spending and tax reform. But therein lies his problem: He has become so identified with an ideologically extreme and politically impractical brand of conservatism that he has put off just about everyone else who may vote in the GOP primaries....

Attacking conservatives and shilling for RINOs is her job. She works for the Washington Post.
She won't ask him. Because she doesn't want to hear the answers.
Go to hell Jennifer Rubin!
She’s one hell of a peach...I read one of her pieces of advice to Republicans for 2015 and it was to IGNORE talk radio, as it is just entertainment.
Yes, Rush admits that entertainment is part of the job - but are his callers “entertainers” too? They are the ones even angrier than Rush. Are they shills for him...meaning that the entire show is STAGED? I guess she must believe that, or else she would be advising Republicans to listen to at least the callers...
Of course, most likely, the following greats would be considered "obnoxious" by those same "moderate Republicans":
John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, and the other leaders who authored the Declaration, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights which, by the way, makes it possible for Rubin to exercise her rights to freedom of conscience, speech, and the press to spout her views in 2015.
Ted Cruz's ability to understand and articulate those ideas which are essential to such liberty is what makes him a threat to all, in both political Parties, are bound up by politics instead of fidelity to the Constitution's limits on coercive government power.
Future generations are apt to revile those who have refused to be the "obnoxious" voices of 2014, for they will see them as the generation who compromised away their liberty.
Abolishing the IRS is “extreme”?
It was Leftist extremism to have passed it as an Amendment.
Those "obnoxious" voices of 1776 and 1787 must be crying out now, as they observe those who are supposed to be the "representatives of 'the People'" being parties to subverting the Constitution--too weak and ineffective to speak out on behalf of the liberty they fought to pass on!
"Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it." - John Adams, Letter to Abigail Adams, 1777"All honor to Jefferson--to the man who, in the concrete pressure of a struggle for national independence by a single people, had the coolness, forecast, and capacity to introduce into a merely revolutionary document, an abstract truth, applicable to all men and all times, and so to embalm it there, that to-day, and in all coming days, it shall be a rebuke and a stumbling-block to the very harbingers of re-appearing tyranny and oppression." - Abraham Lincoln, April 6, 1859
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis
Hear Samuel Adams:
"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. - Samuel Adams
Sen. Cruz could offer her solutions, but I doubt she would understand them.
And Sarah has the place next to him.
I>I think Hillary is more her type</I><>P>Jennifer Rubin is into chicks part to too?
True dat.
No, I think she - like that ‘conservative’ on “The View” - will be backing Hillary for President.
Sir, I do not know what your talking about.
I am the biggest fan Cruz has!
The “writer” of the article you speak of is Jennifer Rubin.
I was commenting on the “Article” to you....not about you.
as I stated..........I noticed the left turn signal was on for this right turn article....
Thanks. No problem.
