For some time, rumors have been circulating as to whether former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will run for the president in 2016. As Bush further considers the possibility of running, hes seems to have realized one thing: the current GOP is completely insane.
Yesterday, Bush announced a game plan of sorts should he follow through and run for president in 2016, according to The Huffington Post. Bush said a successful candidate must be willing to lose the primary to win the general. As strange as the rationale behind that analogy may seem, Bush is saying that a candidate must stick to his guns, which is respectable.
However, for the GOP, sticking to its guns means government shutdowns, holding hostage tax plans that benefit the poor, gutting healthcare reform, and inciting ignorance on Net Neutrality (were looking at you, Ted Cruz). Traditionally, Bush is a moderate Republican. But todays GOP are just as extreme, loud, and obnoxious as ever.
I dont know if Id be a good candidate or a bad one, said Bush. But I kinda know how a Republican can win, whether its me or somebody else. [The candidate] has to be much more uplifting, much more positive, much more willing to be practical, when compared to past Republicans.
As pretty of a thought that is, whichever Republicans rise to the top of that cesspool of a party will do the exact opposite. Since fear, anger, and frustration with Obama won the midterms for the GOP, its likely that the party will key in on those same emotions during the 2016 presidential elections.
During Bushs years as governor, there wasnt a Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Scott Brown, Rick Scott, or Rick Perry. Republicans used to just be cranky, old white guys. Now, the Republicans are loud and boisterous psychopaths. They feed off their constituents fear that Obama will take their guns and pack them into concentration camps.
Jeb Bush can do all the soul searching he wants, but no amount of political moderation is going to win him any massive amount of GOP votes. If todays Republicans are dinosaurs, then Republicans like Jeb Bush are primordial ooze.
Apparently, Joshua thinks that grammar and/or proofreading are uncool.
Presidential Elections it does hold true that Liberal Republicans do not fair well. If Gore had not been scandal tainted GW Bush who told the Conservatives to pound sand and embraced the Log Cabin GOP would have had a major loss in 2000. Ford-Liberal lost, GHW Bush - Liberal won one election on Reagan legacy and lost the next by his 1000 points of NWO Liberalism, Bob Dole Says-Liberal lost, GB Bush squeaked by what should have been easy wins had he not told the Conservative base to get lost, John Take a Dive McCain didn't even make it to the election despite the party nomination, Mitt Obamacare Romney LOST. Compare those to Ronald Reagan the most Conservative GOP post WW2 POTUS who won two landslides by embracing the Conservative Base.
Yes indeed if a GOP POTUS candidate disses the Conservatives {Tea Party} they can almost with certainty count on a loss in the General Election. The big question needed asking is why don't they care? Being paidor promised high paying positions to throw elections perhaps? They likely have more in common politically with the DEMs and share their agenda? I think so. I think politically the Bush Family likely agrees with most of Obama's policies than Ronald Reagan's and it certainly showed in "W"s botched terms as POTUS. Only the most devout Bush Cult loyalist defend the Bush clan now.
The Bush Family despite their Faux imported southern accents are northeastern LIBERALS born, breed, and educated, into the liberal culture considering themselves the ruling elite.
Since George HW Bush was first Ronald Reagan's challenger in 1980 before becoming his Vice President, make that 34 years.
Our only chance is if the US Senate and HOR stand tall.
