In the wake of the 2012 presidential election, Fox News moved quickly to purge itself of its most troubled assets: Dick Morris, unquestionably the worst pundit of the cycle, was pushed out. Sarah Palin, a star fast fading, "parted ways" with the network. Karl Rove, who famously refused to concede Ohio to Obama even after Fox News called it for him, was temporarily sidelined.
Rove came back, of course. A top Republican strategist with major political influence, he was too valuable to give up. But now, as the next presidential election cycle gets under way, Rove has once again found himself at the center of controversy. At a conference in Los Angeles last week, he suggested that Hillary Clinton suffers from brain damage. The remarks were immediately criticized by fellow Republicans (Nicolle Wallace called them "off the wall"), Democrats (David Plouffe sarcastically commended the "high-brow, positive" criticism), and members of the media (CNN's John King said they were "reprehensible").
On Tuesday, Rove defended his remarks -- he said he never used the phrase "brain damage" -- but didn't apologize for raising concerns about Clinton's mental status: "I never used that phrase, I never used that phrase. But look, she had a serious health episode. And I don’t know about you, but if you go through a serious health episode, it causes you to look at life a little bit differently. This was a serious deal,” he said.
The damage is done, as they say, and that may very well have been intentional. Wallace, who worked with Rove in the Bush White House, called it "a deliberate strategy on his part to raise her health as an issue and, I think in his view, a legitimate line of questioning ahead of the next campaign."(continued)

Hillary can’t pass the physical. The Democrats can wish all they want, but she is physically incapable of holding the job. Ask anybody who has had blood clots if lots of travel and stress is what their Doctor recommends. Electing her to office is like giving her a death sentence. I would much rather see photos of Hillary spoiling her grandchild than photos of her coffin.
Regardless what you think of Hillary, that was a bloody stupid remark.

Rove isn’t worth defending.
I thought Clinton’s office said that she had a blood clot. That’s pretty serious brain damage, or at least potentially.
I don’t see what the big deal is. Actually, they wanted to get Hillary off the stage because she was becoming an embarrassment and they were afraid she might spill the beans on Benghazi (inadvertently, because she always stands by her man, in this case, Obama). I do think she had what is medically described as an “incident,” so maybe just the stress of having to keep defending the indefensible was too much even for her.
I don’t think she has permanent brain damage - or at least, anything that will make her already warped brain worse - but certainly, if she’s thinking of running for president, this should be explained.

The liberal media is agog about head injuries that athletes have, and yet, they have not really discussed how Hill injured her head and the severity of her injury.

LOL: Claim That Media Downplayed Benghazi Denounced as ‘Whopper of the Year’

In shining examples of the phrase “better late than never,” Conor Friedersdorf — a staff writer on politics and national affairs at The Atlantic — and Dylan Byers — a media critic for the Politico website — hammered conservatives on Monday for charging that the mainstream media had mostly ignored or minimized the attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012.
Friedersdorf called the charge the “Whopper of the Year,” while Byers accused conservatives of taking a “guilty-until-proven-innocent approach” regarding the reaction by President Barack Obama and his administration to the incident, which 11 months ago led to the deaths of four people, including U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.

They want it both ways - so serious she was unavailable for three weeks but really it was nothing.
Wonder if the Dems will back Hillary 1000% as McGovern did Thomas Eagleton.
The woman suffered a brain injury.
The woman was out of commission for a long time.
The woman behaved differently when she came back.
The woman retired shortly after.
The woman wore glassed used specifically to treat a brain injury.
Did the media question and request confirmation of Joe Biden after his brain surgery?
Perhaps “brain damaged” was not the “correct” term. But the questions are legit.
These are very important facts that you mention. However, any mention of Rove and some just can't help themselves (literally).
It was just a case of 72 hour brain damage. Cleared right up, after the hearings ended.

I think it might be a ploy for Benghazi and not so much the election. Calling her out on the ‘brain injury’ — if they object too much, what does that mean about their excuse on why she couldn’t testify during that period.
You can’t have it both ways. She was either too ill to testify (which raises health questions) or she faked it and is fine (which raises question about her testimony).
I think it is a brilliant strategic play to call her out.
Rove wouldn’t be asking them if he didn’t know the inside scoop, IMO.
