One is a trusted friend, with decades of national campaign experience. Another is a media consultant who worked on six of the last seven presidential races. Then there’s a trio of strategy and communications experts who have been together since George W. Bush’s 2004 run for the White House. What they have in common are deep-seated relationships with Governor Christie and connections that reach across the country. They form the nucleus of a political team so tight and loyal to the governor, that it’s difficult to get them to talk about anything – even their success in helping him win twice in a blue state.
When Christie decided to leave the U.S. Attorney’s Office and run for governor four years ago, he was able to quickly establish this team through existing relationships and connections they had to New Jersey. They were with him again this year when he broke records in securing a second term, and they’re viewed as people he will turn to if he runs for president.
With the governor winning more than 60 percent of the vote in a state dominated by Democrats – including a majority of Hispanics and women – speculation that Christie plans to run in 2016 has swelled. Every time he meets with a deep-pocketed donor or someone who worked on a presidential campaign, or appears on Sunday news shows, he makes headlines.
Steve Schmidt, a senior adviser to Arizona Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, said Christie has an “A-list campaign team” if he seeks the White House. It consists of Bill Palatucci, a longtime friend and one of Christie’s closest advisers; campaign strategist Mike DuHaime; campaign manager Bill Stepien; communications director Maria Comella; and ad man Russ Schriefer.
Christie also has the benefit of being chairman of the Republican Governors Association....

What would it take for me, a Tea Party man to vote for Krispy Kreme? If and only if Christie chose the right sort of man as a Vice President, I could consider it. If Christie chose the Caped Union-Slayer of Wisconsin; Scott Walker, game over, I would do it. I would vote in any manner that would put Scott Walker in the White House. If Christie gets far enough to be nominated, it will be clear that he must counterbalance his RINO tendencies. It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature, I mean The Tea Party, Mr. Krispy!
VP pick no longer matters to me. Another damnable left-wing RINO in the top slot is a no-go. Three times in a row will prove this party only wants ringers against a Democrat nominee.

Yup. once I saw that name, supreme RINO’ came to mind. What an “A” team of losers who worked for losing campaigns starting with Mclame.
A lot will depend on the available choices. If its another case of Rino-Fever, I seriously may consider the Libertarian Ticket this time, provided they are not OVERLY dovish. I don’t want to just sit at home alone and mad, with my arms crossed, not voting. That helps nobody but the evildoers (i.e. DIMS). Many years back, I was thatclose to voting for a certain Ross Perot, until he began to publicly unravel in the most bizarre and troubling ways. Stay tuned.

How far back in time is that situation, years ago? People change. I’ll need to familiarize myself with that story.
So you think his views on our constitutional rights have “evolved” as they say? So maybe now he doesn’t believe in the 1st Amendment, either or the 4th, perhaps?
Nobody wants a third party. If the likes of Christie or Romney are foisted (and I judge it about 80 percent likely), it will force a third party whether or not we want it.
We'd better anticipate it.
Otherwise, VP is sort of the "rodeo clown" position in the presidential administration, especially any Republican one. A VP choice is mostly cosmetic.
Once upon a time the Republicans were something of a third party.
Yeah, in 2008, Palin was the sole reason I could vote for McQueeg. Willard could’ve put Palin or Cruz as his VP and I wouldn’t have voted for him (I voted for Virgil Goode). I’m done with leftist ringers as Presidential candidates.
FRiends, it's looking likely that a third party will be coming our way regardless, if the GOPe mangles another primary outcome the way it always has. My primary vote has never meant squat because people on the east coast decided for me weeks earlier, in their GOP primaries. I'd love it if if that changed in 2016 and the GOP fielded a limited government conservative, but I ain't holding my breath.
If a good third party candidate can't win, at least he or she could scare the hell out of the lefties in the GOP.
As I’ve said many times, we don’t need a third party, we need a second party, not a two-headed big gubmint pre-selected combine sham.
