my only point of disagreement:

“lesser of 2 evils” is not a phrase out of western philosophy. It is a made up term that came out of the military in the ‘30’s.

If the GOP candidate is worse that should be reasonably expected ... it is usually best if the DEM wins. Ex. Charlie Bass NH-2 and Roraback CT-5. In that way, conservatives can come back 2 years later, rather than putting up with a liberal GOPer for 20 years.

On the other hand, if there is nobody better, waiting in the wings, capable of getting elected ... then how can the GOPer be evil?

It is true that the “moderates” in the GOP east coast play this game. Example known to all is Doug Hoffman NY-23 ... many grassroots GOP officeholders and party officials somewhat openly supported and voted for Owens rather than Hoffman. Their thinking is that they would rather have Owens for a brief time and come back with their own guy ... which they did.

The irony is that Owens still survives.

The solution is MASS and the opportunity is for the “independent majority” to support candidates in the open DEM state house primaries ... and on the “Independent Party” in the fall. Cross-endorsed by GOP. I think the MASS GOP ain’t worth taking over.

Romney lied his way through the primary, but the others were not serious.

Neither was Romney.

If he was, he would have:

1. Not completely alienated his base and attempted to win the election with a group of voters that were mostly foreign to the GOP
2. Attached Obama on all of his weaknesses. He refused to be serious about this and phoned it in.

Denice Pribus! Now, its hard to see his name in any other way. Denice fits better than Reince. He turned out to be an absolute Flat Beer with no real head.

That entire post was right on the money, FMDJ.

It’s no longer enough to “vote Republican” if the person is in bed with the Democrats in every imaginable way. They’re not the lesser of two evils, they ARE the evil. McConnell, Boehner, McCain, et al, all willing accomplices to the left-wing agenda.

And cynwoody is going right along with it, letting fear manipulate him/her into voting for evil and leftism in the mistaken illusion that he/she is voting "against" the other guy. Cynwood, there is no voting against. When you voted for Romney, you weren't voting "against" Obama, you were voting FOR LEFTISM.

Period.

You’ve been here 13 years, so you should know I’ve not been shy about voicing my agenda. You also know that since 2006, I was ringing the alarm bell the loudest about Willard and that there was nothing on earth that would cause me to vote for that lying Socialist fraud. Not for President and not for dogcatcher.

You’d think after all these years of being on FR you’d understand why pimping for and rubber-stamping pre-selected leftist establishment ringers for high office is 100% unacceptable.

I vote for Conservatives. No others get my vote, period.

Oh, the 2012 primary was as big a joke as 2008. My state primary voters considered Willard a joke, as he only barely edged Newt for 2nd place. Santorum came in 1st, well ahead of Willard. Santorum would’ve been a better choice, BUT, he was not a first-tier candidate. I couldn’t believe people championing Newt, who has had toxic approval numbers since 1995 and couldn’t win a Presidential race period.

I’ve maintained that Presidential candidates should be drafted, that they should be barred from declaring themselves (and put an end to these unqualified egotists). The entire system for running for President needs to be thrown out and redone. The Iowa & NH stuff has got to end. The system is badly broken and we continue to sink as a result.

Forget it. I’m done with the GOPe. It’s up to the party to win me back by pushing hard and going all in for Ted Cruz, or Sarah Palin for the top slot.

Sarah was treated so badly by both sides after 2008,and continues to be pilloried to this day (Bashir!) that she may wait a decade or two before running to win anything. My hope is one of her Tea-Team members like Cruz will win, then offer her an appointed position just to become part of a current administration, maybe something in Energy Management and Exploration. Boehner has not opened his mouth once that I have seen in her praise or defense. When you have a trifecta of opposition, the democrat politicians, the RINO party bosses, and the compliant media maniquins, it is very hard to get anything done other than fend off attacks. Sarah is still ‘in the game’ in my opinion, but just not in the running for now.
