Unfortunately, he wasn’t the solution, either.
Sometimes you have to admit to being wrong and then move on. Coulter appears to be digging in.
Yes, Romney and his advosors were the problem. Teh father of Romneycare (the model for Obamacare), the guy who gave Massachusetts judges who helped force gay marriage on the people, the country-club, Wall Street, Etch A Sketch “moderate” who ran a bad campaign and wouldn’t challenege BO on Benghazi or much of anything else, isn’t the problem?
So who are we supposed to blame? Conservatives?
The GOP is stuck in an infinite stupid loop:
RUN “MODERATE”
LOSE ELECTION
BLAME CONSERVATIVES
MOVE LEFT
RUN “MODERATE” ...
Well, if there is a skeleton in a hole, shovel the dirt in on her. She’s done.
I say it again, and said it from the beginning. Romney WAS the problem. Said he’d lose in an EV landslide (he did). Said the Dims would gain in the Senate. (they did). To be fair, I really thought the Dims would eek out a majority in the House. Glad I missed that one. I was eviscerated as some wanna be LibTard for saying the ONLY person to listen to about polls was Nate Silver. We need to stop worrying about the messenger and listen to the facts. We get none (facts) from our so-called conservative pundits.
It was evident to anyone with an ounce of IQ, and should be so now, that Romney was an utter disaster. It wasn’t some bizarre conspiracy or voter fraud. We, again, nominated a terrible candidate. Don’t think so? Then do the same thing in 2016 and see what happens.
The GOP Elite use these silly conspiracies to keep us at each other and in disarray because they KNOW if we coalesced we’d nominate a decent conservative.
Romney is, and was, a fool So was McSame. Are we gonna do it again? I sure hope not.
Only after he had clinched. For most of the time, he was getting 35 percent or so. I distinctly remember Newt Gingrich complaining on more than one primary night that "Once again, Senator Santorum and I got about two thirds of the votes..."
Why is Ann Coulter the problem? Was Ann responsible for Michele Bachmann’s kamikazi attack on Rick Perry? Was Ann responsible for Herman Cain’s lack of preparation for being a frontrunner and for his poor handling of the adultry allegation? Was Ann responsible for Newt’s bounced checks and for Santorum inability to win his home state?
Ann is one person with an opinion, I don’t always agree with her, but to say she is the problem is silly.
Dear Ann: Congratulations! Your candidate won the election! Thanks to you, Mitt Romney and the Republican Party will spend the next four years growing our economy and keeping us safe from the Libyan navy!
It’s like I told the boys on the basketball team I coached...”Yeah, we lost this game, but it’s only truly a defeat if we don’t learn from it.”
Ann, you’re taking this loss and turning it into a defeat.
Exactly. There was nothing wrong with Romney, he just was NOT more popular than Barack Hussein Obama.
The number of votes in a primary are irrelevant, Reagan got the most votes in the 1968 GOP primary.
first she is an idiot who wanted us to have Romney and who helped attack Newt, now aimgine of they atacked jug ears half the way they did to Newt, Sarah , Col West?
Secondly a massive rigged election does not help us.
Third, we have so many cowards on our side who will not call out the media , name names and their bias, hell even Candy Crowley showed her bias and not a peep really from the GOP.
Fourthly, put a damn conservative out there who can win not someone who supported homosexuals, Govt health care.
5th, speak up, call the media out , run AD’s of their bias help the likes of Sarah, West and the base will be out like they have never seen.
Our distain for obama what the GOP counted on was not enough to beat the corrupt election and the elfts lies and attacks
I think Romney could have been an excellent President.
I was not a fan in the primary’s, but always recognized that a President must be able to unify the general electorate.
Beyond that they must lead.
I think Romney had all that.
The X factor is charisma and a complicit sycophant press.
Obama had neither A or B, but he had the X factor.
Charisma is an odd thing.
I see through Obamas 3 card monte crap, but a lot of the electorate is hypnotized.
I swear he could crap on Americas collective head and the electorate would cheer!
Tell us now, not in August of 2016, who you want the nominee to be. I am tired of people saying who they don’t want, who should we support?
Right now, I support Tom McClintock, I am laying it out now not four years from today.
Amen!!
The problem here is that conservatives cant get on the same page even when there is only one candidate left.
Stop the circular firing squad and circle the wagons!!
How did he do that? Well, he effectively took Obamacare off the table as a campaign issue with his continued cheerleading for Romneycare. He took Wall Street backing for Dems off the table as he was clearly associated with Wall Street. He pretended to be a regular guy when he was nothing of the sort - and voters hate phonies (ask John Kerry how pretending to be a hunter worked out for him).
He played it safe and waited for Obama to lose instead of finishing Obama off with a campaign willing to take risks. He ran a TV, phone and direct mail campaign in the age of social media. And in the worst case of self-inflicted damage, his brain trust came up with a system - ORCA - that my assistants right out of college saw the problems with when they read about it later.
Seriously, this guy was running a campaign based on the notion of competence - yet in the critical GOTV effort, they violated a staggering number of basic rules for systems and logistics. ORCA to me epitomizes what was wrong with the Romney campaign - an overpaid MBA mindset that their superior brains obviate the need for basic hard work and grassroots strategy.
So yes, Ann, in the end it all comes back to Romney, because he set the tone with his own rudderless beliefs. He gave swing voters no compelling reason to vote for him - so those swing voters who went for Obama in 2008 appear to have largely not voted for president at all.
Give it a rest Annie
ALl we know for sure, is that Mitt Romney was NOT THE ANSWER.
....
Where is crying girl “Leave Mitt Romney alone!!”
America needs a better class of voters.
There is a rump parliament that seems to take over and steer this country in just about every crisis today, and they seem to get into office by minority victories, at best a plurality. Only rarely do any of them actually gain a true majority, of at least 50% plus a few.
This would not be so much of a problem, except for the polarization that has been a continuing feature of our politics since at least the time of Richard Nixon. Probably it went on long before that, but mostly, one side or the other could maintain continuity of American interests if there was a change in political parties at the national level, and Americans could be pretty sure of that. But this Current Occupant of the White Hut cannot be relied upon to support US interests in the face of adversity around the world, and even seems ready to pre-emptively surrender, even before the situation has reached serious proportions.
A situation which cannot continue for long, before it must be resolved in one way or the other. And from all appearances, the Current Occupant seems determined to impose his version of America as a Third-world country by any means possible.
