Sarah Palin was on Fox News earlier today talking to Uma Pemmaraju about the up coming Republican Nation Convention. She also fielded a few viewer questions ranging from how one should vote if they dont like either candidate, to whether shed ever run for Governor of Alaska again. She also noted, when asked, that if the GOP doesnt get its act together, and start following the platform set out by its members, the party may very well go the way of the Whigs.

When a lady asks what to do if you cant get behind either candidate, further asking if she should just refrain from voting, Sarah tells her: give Romney a shot, reminding her that we must remove Obama from office, and repeal ObamaCare.
We asked about running for Alaska Governor again, Sarah answered:
I would much rather be able to work on unlocking Alaskas vast resources. The largest state in the union, so rich in oil and gas and zinc and iron and copper and gold and the worlds richest wild seafood fisheries on our planet. I would rather work on unlocking our resources to help secure our nation for solvency for our sovereignty as a union than be holed up in Juneau again.
The one answer that is sure to strike fear in the hearts of the GOP Elite is the one about a new, third party emerging.
You know in studying history, look what happened in the mid-1800s when the Whig Party went away and the Republican Party surfaced because people, the electorate, got sick and tired of both parties fighting for power and [not] doing the will of the people, thats why the Republican Party rose up.
So, you know, if history is any indication, its certainly a possibility at some point if Republicans dont remember what the planks in their platform represent. And the planks in the platform are all about equality. They are about equal opportunity, to prosper and thrive in the most exceptional nation in the world, and how do we do that through a free market.
This isnt a new feeling. Many of us have figured this is the GOPs last shot to get it right. There are a lot of real solid Conservatives in the Republican Party, but ofttimes their efforts are stymied by what passes for leadership within the party.
After the interview, Sarah posted on her Facebook page reminding supporters shes headed to Arizona to help Kirk Adams, Paul Gozar, and others:
As I mentioned on Fox this afternoon, Im traveling to Arizona to join Kirk Adams and other commonsense conservative candidates at a rally on Monday at Joes Farm Grill in Gilbert, Arizona.
Check out Kirks website www.kirkadams2012.com for more info about the event.

Agreed.
I’m there. I’ve given the gop every chance since 1980 to get it right.
They left me in 1988.
This is their last chance, IMHO.
I’m pretty much there as well.
I am going to vote for Romeny. The consequences of giving Obammy another four years are just too great.
Should Romney be fortunate enough to win, he had better govern as a conservative though. If he fails to introduce critically needed major reforms, then the economy will continue to falter.
The only difference will be that the media that has excused all the bad news of the past four years and has defended the Kenyan relentlessly will change their tune and blame everything on Romney and conservatives.
That would indeed wind up dealing the death blow to the GOP.
I am already leaving the republican party after 2012.. “them” selecting the inventor of Romney-care as the poster boy.. did it for me...
Some is something severely askew in the RP... somethings broken..
and probably cannot be fixed..
I’m bailing.. if enough do it.. then a third party can be viable..
If not the whole RP barrel will turn to vinegar..
Romney is a Gadianton Robber, and has already proven to allow his henchmen to work and conspire in the shadows. His vision for American, while not as extreme as Obama’s, is far from the vision our founding documents provide.
We have bumped the direction to the right with the 2010 election and we will gain more right ward movement in 2012, but if we are serious about restoring America we must have a party and a voice. This will not be easy because the media and both parties elite will try to crush us.
Romney will get a shot. Sarah is more giving him advice (or a warning) that he needs to STILL behave like a Republican once he wins. He may just do that, as he’s run his campaign light years ahead of McCain and probably better than any Republican campaign since the first Bush campaign (where Lee Atwater was the mastermind). His little quip about not having to show his birth certificate probably picked him up 5 points with conservatives alone.
I'm just saying.
I agree. After November we need to start laying the ground work for a new party. Actually, I guess, in a way, we’ve already started. Thanks to the Internet we’ve already started a network all across the country. Some of my favorite “friends” on FB are conservatives I’ve never met! We will be able to do this one day.....
I adore Sarah Palin but will not vote for Romney. As soon as she is thoroughly disgusted with the corruption and leftist ideology that are sure to be the hallmarks of a Romney administration (if any), I will gladly join her in creating that third party. The GOP deserves the death penalty as did its Whig and Federalist ancestors.
Sarah Palin has turned into the worst one of all..she ‘s come into AZ endorsing the establishment candidates over the conservatives. SCREW HER.
Yeah, 'cuz I remember back when you were her biggest supporter ... oh no, that wasn't you at all, was it?
Actually, “Federalist Party” or something similar would be a good name for the new party.
Does the candidate have a resumé, job history, education history, etc.?
The (much) smarter idea is to take over an existing party, say the GOP.
If you can’t do that, you can’t do a brand new party.
And, anything you can do starting from scratch, you can do quicker and easier within the GOP.
Just ask anyone who has tried.
Zingggg.! Right on, 2Dv.
The more recent and apropo example would be Canada's Conservative Party.
Canada's conservative third party movement, fed up with Canadian CINO Tories, began in earnest about 1993.
By 2006 the Tories were non existant and The Conservative Party had the Prime Minister and the legislature.
If not a third party, Republicans need a Tea Party Caucus in Congress.

Sorry, but it should be its. This really bugs me since it's so easy to see the difference . . . kinda' makes Free Republic look cheesy. Sorry, but I'm a stickler.
