Dave Weigel of journ-o-list? Like I give two hoots in hell what he thinks about anything.

The comments are worth a trip over there. Oh, and if you'll remember, Governor Sarah Palin backed Steelman.

Remember when Akin’s opponent, Claire McCaskill, insisted that Obama never said he wanted to fundamentally transform America?

Now how stupid was that?

The Video Claire McCaskill does not want you to see.

When talking about rape just leave it at rape.

To put it bluntly, it’s time we learn from 2010’s few losses.

People like this DO NOT LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES.

He will repeat gaffes in the future, possibly EVEN WORSE. It’s time to Freep the heck out of anybody who can make him change his mind.

What’s most distressing here is that the candidate is right. Rape seldom (more seldom than one in 400,000 incidents) results in pregnancy. Charles Rice, Notre Dame Law professor, wrote extensively about this (in First Things) during the Roe v. Wade hearings because he was not permitted to testify. Sure, it may have been an impolitic statement, but that doesn’t make it unscientific. (The figures, as I remember, took into account only PROSECUTED rapes. I know pro-choicers claim that many so-called rape-victims dare not go the prosecution-route; but without that stat, the cited figure stands. Further, Prof. Rice pointed out, hospitals throughout the country routinely “cleanse the victims of their attackers” if the rape is reported within 24-odd hours.

I love the prez’s claim that “Rape is rape.” Oh, yeah? Maybe he ought to check with the Duke LAX team.

This guy will cost us the senate because it is close to 50:50 now. Steelman will win this seat, Akin needs to drop out ASAP.

Americans ask for candidates who will "fight" and then "Republicans" demand that this man step down because one interview goes badly.

Simply amazing!

You can stand with Todd Akin or you can stand with the agents of the DNC, MSM, the Obama White House and The NOW who are all out to destroy a true Pro Life Conservative.

McCaskill was just on making a statement that he should stay in and not let the party bosses undemocratically choose another candidate. I guess if I spent 2 million bucks trying to make sure he won the primary I would be encouraging him to stay.

“The second, from Philip Klein: “At this point, if Akin doesn’t drop, McCaskill can run ads all fall simply quoting Republicans condemning him.”

so again the Dims manage to get RINOS to help the GOP eat their own, while the entire Dim structure and the Dim candidate would show more backbone and that alone would help fend off the results of a gaffe

not the GOP, they’re not really out to do battle, they live to abide by the media’s agenda, and since they don’t buck that agenda, the media obliges

I quit watching choir boy Hannity some years ago.

Hannity was disgraceful. He might not have outright called for Akin to drop out of the race, but he certainly applied pressure.

However, a little good news ...

MARK LEVIN has just announced that according to his call screener, the "vast majority" of callers want Akin to "not resign" from his candidacy.

What's more, Levin said that these callers to his radio show are "furious" with those in the media, bloggers, beltway types etc who are calling on Akin to resign.

Levin said this is a good sign -- that the grass roots are rejecting an "injustice" against Akin.

Levin now says that if he "had his druthers," Akin would "go away." But he says that Akin is a good man, a strong conservative, and a very "moral and decent man;" and that if Akin chooses to stay, that he will have Levin's full support.

Didn’t Whoopie Goldberg say something about the director Roman Polanski wasn’t really guilty of rape, she said it wasn’t “rape-rape” and she is still on the air.

his theory of the female body’s magical defenses against rape-sperm

Akin didn't say anything remotely like "magical."

This ridicule of the concept he was trying to articulate (of female endocrine changes in response to a traumatic attack) is more typical of a Leftist attack, than of Right-wing reason.

Why are people who are allegedly on the Right, now parroting the Alinsky-ites?

That's exactly what Republicans are doing who are piling on Akin, using the ridicule and the language of the Left.

His wife ought to tell him he has ZERO chance of winning because of his big, fat mouth. Obviously, he is too stupid to be in office and too stubborn and selfish to see what a stinking mess he is causing the GOP.

Even if Akin stays in and loses I don’t see how the Dems keep the senate. Missouri is only one of half a dozen vulnerable seats.

Give Akin a little time, and a little slack. He'll dropp out in a day or sp. He's going through the seven stages of grief in 24 hours..Two days ago he was all but a lock to win a Senate seat..now he's a laughingstock, and his political career is over..kaput..in the crapper. He can't process it as yet....

And as for that sanctimonious putz Cornyn..rememebr, he was the guy who tried to shove Charlie Crist down our throats here in Florda, and wasted BIG $$ supporting him early on...
