A man who doesn’t know which end of the sword to hold isn’t going to be “fighting” effectively no matter how sincere he is about fighting.
This is about competence.

I worked for a man running for president who made one “misstatement” that wasn’t even wrong, but the press made it look like a power grab and they kept using it against him, over and over and over. Best thing we can do in a situation like this is punt.

Amazing, indeed. As amazing as demanding that one CFO be fired for what he said and videotaped at a Chick-Fil-A drive-through.
Then we wonder why other politicians and corporate executives specialize in doublespeak to advance in their careers.
Goodbye, freedom of speech. It's been nice knowing you. Anything you say or do can cost you your job. Why bother saying anything at all?
