DId Palin, Paul Ryan and company decide Obama was unbeatable because of his fundraising ability?
Milwaukee Story Blog ^ | 12.14.11 | William Chocher

And with Obama already able to charm hundreds of thousands of free advertising out of the media, both liberal and so-called moderate media outlets, it gives him a clear message control advantage going into the general. Obama is predicted to raise close to $1 billion for the general and it is difficult to see Romney or Gingrich tapping into both small time donors, big time PAC and draw the crowds Obama draws to fundraisers to raise cash. It just won't happen.

Obama is going to rent a satelite channel and run his commercials 24/7

don’t forget his credit card fraud ability to take foreign donations.

In Gov. Palin’s case I’m fairly sure she obtained promises of a VP slot from the candidates in return for staying out of the race.

the key is to talk one on one.

talk now, talk often. The voice of reason has to drown out the voices of the beltway.

I know one old NY WW II vet who was not going to vote for Obama and ended up zombie voting for him because he was a democrat.

I don’t but that’s the modern vernacular. If I’d had the combined 188K to invest over my career, I’d be doing quite a lot better. As it is,I went early because that’s the best way to get back your principal. Getting back possible interest?? Fuggedabowdit!

I wish someone, anyone, would raise the eligibity issue. So far they are all wimps. Maybe they’re saving it for the general.

One other thing that I’m pretty sure of with Newt - when there is any question of or blatant evidence of Obama illegally getting contributions - Newt won’t for a minute be nicey polite like the idiot McCain or Milquetoast Romney would be. Newt, I believe, will publicly and loudly call Zero out on it AND move legally to stop it.

I tend to agree. I've always thought that the Palin bus and movie tours were "water testing" and that she had a pollster checking on her negatives, and it was her negatives that convinced her she couldn't win the GOP primary.

She is a fund-raising hurricane, no doubt, and can dump money into any GOP candidate that would come close to matching Obama. Gingrich can raise money, but unlike Romney, Gingrich can run pretty strong in almost every part of the country except CA and NY. Romney is stuck in the NE and maybe Michigan. But, like Sarah, he can raise money.

Disagree. Any incumbent with an approval at this point of 42% is toast. Elmer Fudd could beat him, and we will likely nominate someone close to Fudd. But it will still result in a victory.

All I want is for Obama to do his impersonation of Richard III

Palin refused to run because she has a daughter who can’t keep her knees together and a son who is not bright enough to use a condom.

And the really sad thing is I would have stopped a bullet for her.

I went early (62) also. Because I had doubts (and still do) about the long term viability of Social Security. Get all I can while I can. At least we get a COLA next year :)

Ryan has plenty of charisma, besides being twice as smart as Obama.

Did you steal that line from the DU?

“Obama has a rock bottom voter %age of 42”

That is not good. Even that dwarf Michael Dukakis managed to get 46.5% of the national vote in 1988. Carter and Mondale pulled down 41% in 1980 and 1984. Obama at 42% is dismal. He needs to sway 8% to get a majority. Not very likely at all.

He is only popular with the leeches, feminazi’s and green people. The people who collect welfare, WIC, unemployment, etc. even in a robust economy. Hes not going to get the same love he had in 2008. He won that race because a lot of middle class workers went his way. Now those workers are really feeling the pain his policies are causing.

How did Reagan smash Carter in 1980 even though a Republican congressman was mounting a strong 3rd party campaign? Easy. The election was all about the failure of Jimmy Carter. Most independents had serious doubts about Ronald Reagan. But they voted for him because he wasn’t Jimmy Carter. Same thing will happen in 2012. It doesn’t matter if it’s Newt, Bachmann, Santorun or, God forbid, Romney or Perry, the election will be all about Obama.

In the end, barring a major 3rd party candidate, I think Obama loses by a 45%-55% margin. The Republican will carry all the McCain states, take back IN, VA, NC, CO, FL, OH and NV as well as pick up PA, NH, MI, WI, IA and possibly even MN and OR...........You heard it hear first. Mark my post and come see me in 11 months!

Reread your post and think about your description of Ryan being twice as smart as Obama. Remember the role of 0 in multiplication.

Perhaps your mother should of insisted that your dad use one. What’s the matter, mommy couldn’t get a puppy at the pounds and settled for you instead?
