N.H. Republican says Sarah Palin's window is closed (Surprise! Former McCain staffer!)
The Los Angeles Times ^ | September 5, 2011 | Robin Abcarian

Republican activists in early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire generally speak of Sarah Palin’s presidential prospects in encouraging terms. She’s a star, they say. If she decides to run, she’ll shake up the field.

Lately, the praise has been tempered with warnings about how her time is growing short.

But on Monday, the day Palin appeared before a large and very enthusiastic crowd at a Tea Party Express rally here, and two days after her much-anticipated speech to the Tea Party of America in Indianola, Iowa, a plugged-in New Hampshire Republican said he believes her window has already slammed shut. At least in the Granite State.

“I think it’s too late for Gov. Palin to get into the race,” said Steve Duprey, a former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman and veteran of John McCain’s 2008 campaign. ”

Duprey, who is not aligned with a candidate, said he does not believe Palin has time to put together an effective organization in New Hampshire, which holds the nation’s first primary in early 2012. That event is hugely symbolic in the course of the presidential campaign.

But supporters say that if Palin were to get in the race – she has said she will make her intentions known by the end of September or so—she could run an unconventional campaign without the usual apparatus....

When Palin announces, the detractors who say she isn’t running deserve a good ribbing.

At least one of our resident naysayers has told me that he'll graciously accept our good-natured ribbing about his bad call, "if" she announces.

I fully intend to follow through on my end of that bargain.

Perry announced just 23 days ago, but for Palin “it’s too late”. A very objective observation by an “insider”.

Interesting (but not unexpected!) news about Ed Rollins leaving the Bachmann campaign on likely false pretenses, then accidentally spilling the beans that her campaign is essentially finished.

I knew Michelle had made an egregious error in judgement when she hired that snake.

I like big girls and married two of them, and on the surface, I should be attracted to Meghan. But I also like a self-made woman with some intelligence, so “No, Thank You!” as far as she is concerned.

I thought Representative Bachmann had already transferred substantial dollars from her congressional campaign to her presidential campaign. Should she in fact attempt another run for the House, it remains to be seen if she can now go back to the people who funded her previous Congressional efforts for more money.

Okay, do I believe Steve Duprey that Sarah Palin’s out of time in New Hampshire, or do I believe her drawing a bigger crowd than Mitt Romney in the Mittster’s own backyard? Hmm. Hmmmmm…

I too, think she is running........she may let all the candidates play out and everyone gets comfy in their standings and boom she comes in, upsets the apple cart....she has been there before with McCain and knows the games the good old boys of the GOP play.....before they have time to plan their counter attack she has picked up a lot of momentum among voters and the GOP have no choice but to make her the candidate.....

just a thought....

Once again, she’ll just get on radio talk shows and TV and beg the nation to contribute because as a MN Congressman she will be ‘the tip of the spear’ with a ‘titanium spine’ taking on the tough issues for the nation.

Oh, and Nancy Pelosie is out to destroy her.

"But, I’m sure it would be “open” for Chris Christie."

I think they better make that an extra, extra wide opening for Christie. LOL!

I’ll be waiting for the apology that will never come from all those Bachmann supporters that called us every name in the book when we said Rollins was gonna tank her campaign.

Think we’ll get one?

‘Ed Rollins was talking by phone on CNN and said that this is a Romney/Perry race. Which caught Ari Fletcher by surprise for him to say, leaving out Bachmann. That is probably why he left the campaign although he is saying for health reasons. He also slipped up and said that she’s going back to congress in the fall—then changed the conversation real quick. He’s probably leaving the sinking ship before it sinks further.”

Gee what a surprise. Rollins stabs Bachmann in the back on CNN.

The guy is bad news as many of us have been saying. Bachmann should never have hired him. I don't believe he ever had Bachmann's best interests at heart.

Sarah can field an organization in a few days, because she will have motivated staffers and volunteers.

In case no one noticed, since last week Monday, the gauntlet has been thrown down against ordinary Americans by the Dems, the union toadies and the minorities.

They are going to play for keeps.

Sarah Palin, in her two speeches this weekend, is the only person whi understands this, and has experience in fighting this battle.

The other candidates won’t even know what hit them.
