Republican activists in early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire generally speak of Sarah Palins presidential prospects in encouraging terms. Shes a star, they say. If she decides to run, shell shake up the field.
Lately, the praise has been tempered with warnings about how her time is growing short.
But on Monday, the day Palin appeared before a large and very enthusiastic crowd at a Tea Party Express rally here, and two days after her much-anticipated speech to the Tea Party of America in Indianola, Iowa, a plugged-in New Hampshire Republican said he believes her window has already slammed shut. At least in the Granite State.
I think its too late for Gov. Palin to get into the race, said Steve Duprey, a former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman and veteran of John McCains 2008 campaign.
Duprey, who is not aligned with a candidate, said he does not believe Palin has time to put together an effective organization in New Hampshire, which holds the nations first primary in early 2012. That event is hugely symbolic in the course of the presidential campaign.
But supporters say that if Palin were to get in the race she has said she will make her intentions known by the end of September or soshe could run an unconventional campaign without the usual apparatus....

I think you’re probably right and I wouldn’t be surprised if Steve Duprey is right, too.
“N.H. Republican says Sarah Palin’s window is closed (Surprise! Former McCain staffer!)”
My goodness. And after all she did, the time, the effort to make very sure that he remained in the Senate....well, that’s gratitude for ya.
Well, I guess C4P and O4P in New Hampshire just didn’t feel a need to consult with him, now did they? They’ve already got enough boots on the ground without him. Perhaps he’s feeling just a little left out and pouty like a child.
I think that Perry’s campaign chief has deep ties in HN also.
She has a lot of grass roots support. An unconventional campaign might work in NH (and other surprising places) in 2012. The TEA Parties in many states have figured out the politics of primaries.
Underestimate Palin at your own risk.
We Palin supporters are going to look back on this time and laugh at the ear-plugging “nah nah nah I can’t hear you” stuff like this article.
“She’s in”
Define “in.”
Well here is my take. I listened and read her NH speech. Anyone who reads that will follow this lady. She is not afraid of a fight. She is not afraid of the slings and arrows. She is what this country needs. She will make Obama look like the sneaky coward he is.
The speech is posted here. REad it...
A Palin candidacy will never translate into a payday for Mr. Duprey, Ms. Wallace, or any of the other McCain “operatives”, so they could really care less whether she runs or not. Their only concern is getting hired as a staffer or consultant.
It didn’t look closed today PING!
It’s over if/when SHE says it’s over and not one. minute. sooner. :)
Shes in
Define in.
..............................
I agree, she’s not “in” until she’s in.
Someone should ask these beltway sages the old saw about how many legs a dog has if you call the tail a leg. Then remind them that calling a tail a leg does not make it one.
They would still say “5” I’m sure.
The NH GOP is undergoing a nightmare RINO jihad right now fueled by Tea Party hatred.
OK. Here's my definition of Shes in.

Sarah Palin will formally announce a run for President before midnight ET on 31 Dec 2011.
Clear enough?
I suspect she will announce some time in September or early October. But I have no knowledge of when (or if) she will actually announce.
Now, that's just some guy on the Internet making a prediction. I know "the experts" disagree, but that's my prediction.
They wish the window was closed, but a window against a grizzly??
IMO anyone who wins the Republican nomination in NH is probably a loser.
It has to be a liberal, Democrats get to vote in the Republican primary, and it’s too early for a real pick.
