Sarah Palin Lays Out Her Views in Tea Party Speech, Without Formally Announcing 2012 Candidacy
International Business Times ^ | September 3, 2011

Posted on 09/03/2011 12:42:46 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In front of a wildly supportive crowd of Tea Party members at a rally in Indianola, Iowa, Sarah Palin said that the U.S. is now at a “tipping point.”

While didn’t explicitly announce her candidacy for the 2012 Presidential race, observers at the Des Moines Register who covered the event said Palin’s comments sounded like a campaign speech.

“Iowa you are good people,” Palin said. “We’re here because America is at a tipping point. America faces a crisis, and it’s not a crisis like perhaps a Midwest summer storm that moves in and hits hard, but then moves on.”

When the crowd interrupted her 40-minute speech with wild cheers, Palin said: “Folks, you know it’s not enough to just change up the uniform … if we don’t change the game plan.”

Palin covered a broad array of her topics during her speech in front of a rain-soaked crowd of some 2,000.

“Our country can’t afford more trillion dollar thank you notes to campaign backers,” she said. “Like you, I’m not for sale.”

Warning that “it’s time restore a country that we love,” she said the people need to “restore all that is free and good and right about America.”

Here are some other quotes from Palin’s speech as quoted by a Register series of tweets.

*“Real hope is in you. It’s not that hopey, changey stuff that we heard about back in 2008.”

*“Instead of chasing industry off-shore, I propose to eliminate all federal corporate income tax.”

*“Many big corporations, they skirt federal taxes because they have friends in DC who write the rules for the rest of us.”

*“America’s economic revival starts with America’s energy revival.”

*“We need to move on tapping our own God-given natural resources that are part of our reserves.”

*“The real stimulus that we’re waiting for is robust and responsible domestic energy production.”

*“Let’s enforce the 10th amendment. Devolve powers back locally.”

*“My plan is a bona fide, pro working-man’s plan.”

*“The real challenge is not whether we will replace Obama in 2012 but who we will replace him with.”

*“I believe in the free market which is why I detest crony capitalism. ... Obama has shown us crony capitalism on steroids.”

*“I don’t play that game of hiring expert political advisers just so they’ll say something nice about me on TV.”

*“You want to know why the permanent political class never really cuts anything? It’s because there’s nothing in it for them.”

*“Polls? Usually I say polls are for strippers and cross-country skiers.”

*“We are governed by a permanent political class, until we change that.”

*“President Obama, is this what you call winning the future? I call it losing our country.”

*“We love our country in good times and in bad and we never apologize for America.”

When I watched Palin’s Alaska reality show the single thing I came away with is what she kept saying over and over again. This is her signature approach to anything.

” Don’t retreat. Reload!”

This is what I know about her. She simply does not retreat ever. I am not sure she will run. She has a healthy sense of self preservation and I simply do not want her to run because everyone wants her to. I prefer that she thinks of her sense of wellbeing and her family’s above all.

Having said this she is a master tactician and she is winning every step of the way and she will continue to win

Nobody really. Which is why it'd be nice to be able to support a candidate who is. But if she's going to sit on the side and let Perry have it, well...

She don’t need to rush it, she still has time, she doesn’t have to play by someone else’s schedule.

OK Sarah, you’ve had your fun with the MSM and Beltway speculators. It’s high time to poop or get off the pot.

*“Polls? Usually I say polls are for strippers

An amusing comment, given the epic case of electoral blue balls she's inflicting. ;-)

What tactical advantage does she gain by announcing anytime soon?

I had one made special by a local graphics design shop, a big one, 3x2’. They are Palin fans. They designed the graphics, so I can order new copies of my own Palin yard sign at will. Which is good, because someone has already permanently borrowed my original. With my permission, of course.

I’m not a big Palin supporter because I have never thought she was really committed to running and I’m still not sure she is. If she had stayed as governor of Alaska, I’d feel more confident, but she seems to take up things and then drop them.

If she had stayed as governor of Alaska, she'd have HAD to declare personal bankruptcy, and her act of staying WOULD have cost the State of Alaska many millions of dollars as the people in her administration had to do their part in defending the frivolous ethics charged Democrats leveled against her.

Had she stayed, right now you'd probably be saying:

"I'm not a big Palin supporter because I have never thought she was really capable of handling the fiduciary responsiblities that go with the office. If she'd managed to get through her term without having to declare bankruptsy and costing the state millions because of ethics charges made against her, I'd feel more confident, but she seems to be unable to avoide bankruptcy and costing her own administration millions."

None of the candidates are saying, ‘my plan’ or ‘I propose’..
Not even the vacationing, downgrade President.

non candidates either, except for Governor Palin.

Actually, Herman Cain has released a very detailed plan with some good ideas. You can read it online.

I recorded this speech and look forward to watching it later. I would love to see Palin run and win. Like some, I am nervous about her chances in the general election because of the viciousness of the media and the ignorance of our fellow citizens. Like it or not, it’s reality. However, were she to win the nomination (good chance IMO) I am all in for her. If she does not announce I am going to support Perry despite all the hate on here for him. I could be happy with him.

Cain needs to be in the next administration in some capacity. He has some terrific ideas and I love his down to earth personality and common sense.

I remember how deflated we were about the GOP candidates and our future just a few years ago..... we have been blessed folks and there are some great young conservatives that can win in the future if we can keep removing the RINO’s.
