Candidates T-Shirt Sales Predicted Last Three Presidents-Palin Garnering 66%...

Illinois Review has this fascinating article of predicable popular culture:

T-SHIRT SALES INDICATE PALIN VS OBAMA IN 2012

If T-shirt and presidential product sales predict the future in American politics, 2012 will be a Palin vs. Obama race. CafePress writes: The people have spoken and they want to see a Sarah Palin vs. Barack Obama showdown in the 2012 election. Although Palin’s Republican peers Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, and now Jon Huntsman have officially declared their candidacy, the American public is throwing their support behind “Mama Grizzly” for the 2012 Election – on T-shirts that is.

It may be 503 days away, but politically-minded citizens have already designed over 500,000 presidential election products on CafePress, the go-to site for customizable merchandise (think “royal wedding crasher” and “Weinergate” tees).

Sarah Palin has yet to declare her candidacy, but Palin-themed merchandise already makes up a whopping 66 percent of Obama challenger sales and 34 percent of all 2012 election product sales.

Mitt Romney made it official several weeks ago but his product sales make up a small percentage of Obama’s challengers at 3 percent of election product sales.

Michele Bachmann is also in Palin’s shadow, with products contributing to only 1 percent of election product sales.

Since CafePress has seen its T-shirt sales predict the winner of the previous three presidential elections, it’s clear that these Republican contenders have their work cut out for them.

Exactly. Ignoring the problems and propaganda is what resulted in Bush getting trashed over the war and why the media did the damage they do to conservatives in the past.

BS must be countered with fact, logic and reason. People like Indy and SOL can and do twist (see above) and cloud the issues of the day in every outlet available to them.

It has to be countered in ways big and small. People do read these boards whether they actively participate or not.

RE :”I seem to remember it was you talking about some mythical ‘duty’ on Palin’s part to run because she owed it to her supporters.

Nope, I just asked you :”If she is the only one that can beat Obama, and she is the best choice, and if she is sure to win if she runs, and you are sure she is running, then doesn't she have an obligation to you to run? “

...and your response that 'she doesn't have to run if she doesnt want to in your eyes' indicates a completely one sided commitment from you to her. I have no regrets that McCain was not president and have no one sided obligations to anyone least of all him.

Total BS. You said duty. I said “No such animal as “Duty to run” and I asked you to find it written anywhere that she had a “duty” to run. Read it again. Closely...and with feeling ;) Read it ALL again and you, like everyone else here will see where your PDS addled brain went wrong ;)

But these PDSers BEGIN at insanity and quickly move into Wonderland.

You hit it dead center.

I've rarely had trouble with those who have sincere misgivings about one thing or another with Sarah Palin, the PDSers however, are so froth mouth crazy you can't have a discussion with them at all, it's like they have rabies. Pissant was a perfect leader for them, totally insane, totally incapable of a rational discussion, the leader of the cult of PDS.

There are only about twenty or so FR posters that fit your description, and you did describe them perfectly.

Why would I read it again when I just copied your comments? Just because you dont like what you said yet you dont feel free to disagree with it either, doesnt make me a PDSer. But that is an easy sounding out for you.

Does lying in public arouse you or something? It sure amuses the rest of us so I guess it’s all good.

You did not copy my comments. You misrepresented them utterly, then you replaced your “duty” statement with “obligation”...two different things entirely ... which was not only the genesis of, but the basis for the rest of this time waster. And which anyone with eyes can go back and see for themselves. Yes, you do need to read it again, although it appears that understanding simple English is beyond you.

I stand fully behind my statements and you twist mine and yours alike. Which one of us is the fool here?

The insanity is boundless. Look at “Sickoflibs” for example. How can any rational person deny that had enough Americans voted for McCain/Palin, that Obama would not be President; and that we did not means that Obama won - thus we brought him collectively on our selves through voting him into office?

HOW can that be denied with any logic in this or any other universe?

They are rabidly insane at best and Dem plants most likely.

He's just become a very unhappy curmudgeon, his only solace in life has become to be a resident contrarian here. I don't bother to engage him, his obtuseness, yes that was the word used, is beyond hope, making a conversation close to impossible.

If it weren't so sick, it might be sad.......

I've observed everything you say to be true. I, too, have never refused to have a rational discussion with those who aren't sold on Governor Palin. For crying out loud, that's the whole purpose of a discussion forum.

But, with Pissant and others of his ilk, it's not possible to have a rational discussion, when it comes to Palin. For whatever reason, there is something about her that fries whatever logic circuits they have.

I don't like Mitt Romney, but I don't start foaming at the mouth with wild-eyed hatred when talking about him. Hell, I don't get that way when I'm talking with liberals about Obama!

Frankly, I wish the management would take a closer look at the disruption and chaos these PDSers spread on the board. I personally wouldn't stand for it, if I were in a position of authority.

True.

I can even see playing the contrarian if it’s based on a logical argument, but our entire discussion is straight out of One Flew Over the Koo Koo’s Nest.

He displayed not one factual, logical or even honest point throughout it, which even a casual reading would reveal to anyone with a brain. I guess it takes all kinds of crazy to crave attention so badly you publicly debase yourself to get it.

I’ll take your advice. Best to let him dwell in Wonderland of his own creation. The point has been made and proven.

The Romney example is perfect. I used to have good discussions with one of the Romney backers on this board (she got zotted for far less than the PDSers), we went back and forth on why I didn't like him, and we never stopped the discussion with pejoratives to one another.

I often get chances to explain why I don't support him here in Michigan, and most people are pleasantly surprised with the conversation and information I give them. I had a good discussion with my brother the other day, who is no longer a Bachmann supporter (for president).

It's easy to have a conversation with a rational person that has an interest in gathering information, but someone who is a closed minded repeater of talking points (especialy nasty ones) just is no fun to try to have a discussion with.

It's like trying to converse with your two year old..........

It's frustrating, as well, when your intention isn't to have a screaming match with anyone.

It's like walking into a trap, which is what many of us experience when we attempt to discuss politics and culture with liberals. You assume that the other person is interested in actually having a discussion, and then the foul mouthed vulgarities begin to spill out.

Most sane people are taken aback by this, and unfortunately, often get dragged down to the gutter by the unhinged person they're talking to. It's an experience that leaves most of us feeling soiled or dirty.

Why this very same behavior is allowed to soil this forum is a mystery to me.

Just thought I'd throw this out there:

Yesterday I stopped at a local candy store (chain) that also sells gifts and novelties.

A few months ago they had novelty breath mint packages with Obama's picture on them.

Those Obama mints are no longer in stock.

At the front of the store are some toys. There were two "bendable" toy figures on display near then entrance.

One was Mr. Bill.

The other was Sarah Palin.

In 2008, there were tons of things with Zero's name and image on them. That seems to be happening with Sarah now.

Not saying it's conclusive proof of impending victory, but it is interesting that there's more Palin gear out there, than any other candidate's.
