The idea of President Palin hits a granite wall
The Washington Post's Post Partisan ^ | February 15, 2011 | Jonathan Capehart

Posted on 02/15/2011 4:21:18 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

One too many political tea-leaf readers say that Sarah Palin, with her rock-star personality, loyal following and outsized influence on the Republican Party, could jump into the 2012 presidential race at the last minute and run off with the GOP nomination for president. This is in defiance of consistent and plain evidence that Palin is going nowhere fast.

Now a new poll from the University of New Hampshire only adds to the brief against her running. Among likely Republican voters, the former governor of Alaska garnered just six percent support. Blowing out the field was former next-door Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.) with 40 percent. Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who came in fourth during the New Hampshire primary in 2008, came in second with 10 percent.

Now, here's where the news is really bad for Palin. Romney has a net favorability rating among likely Republican primary voters at a solid 57 percent. Palin has a net negative favorability rating of -17 percent. That puts her at the bottom of the list of GOP White House hopefuls. There is one silver lining. At least she beats the publicity-hungry Donald Trump. His net favorability rests in the cellar at -43 percent.

Lots can change between now and when the New Hampshire primary actually happens early next year. And we all know that winning the Granite State doesn't mean the nomination is secured. Just ask my MSNBC colleague Pat Buchanan, who snatched the state from Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) in 1996, or Sen. John McCain, who lost it to then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush during the nomination race of 2000.....

The first tier of "Palin cannot win", Frum and friends, did not get anywhere with their defeatist proclamation. The second string launched several weeks ago, i.e. Bill Kristol and his friends, were not observably successful in dampening pro Palin enthusiasm either. I and those I talk to who are pro Palin are prepared to vote for her and she will win if the Republican party wants to make it happen. If the party leaders insist on foisting on the party base a candidate who is unacceptable to them, those leaders will own the reelection of the current socialist president.

The Romneys are cowards and snake oil salesmen.

Its unconscionable that they en mass have forsworn fighting this nations foreign wars, and he should be disqualified for national office based on that alone.

His father didnt serve either, and the rest of the clan were busy hiding in Mexico where they could practice muslim style polygamy.

He has also taken a firm stand against illegal immigration, which is somewhat ironic, as the evidence suggests that Romney's own grandfather came to America as an illegal immigrant.

His great-grandfather, a devout Mormon in a time when his church encouraged polygamy, fled the US with his multiple wives in 1884, when American law could strip polygamists of the right to vote or serve on juries.

Romney's grandfather and father were born and raised in Mexico, and Romney's father was a child when his family left Mexico at the height of the Mexican Revolution, in 1912. Romney's father's and grandmother were American citizens under the law at that time, and came to America on a train, while his grandfather crossed the border northward in classic "illegal immigrant" fashion, entering US territory on a long walk over barren desert land.

The MSM is hoping that 2 years of reporting that Palin is unelectable will make her unelectable.

At some point in the very near future, “News” outlets that hire stupid faggot propagandists like Capeheart will be busy declaring bankruptcy, and a Goebbels like fate might not be far off.

Another "progressive" Democrat Soros doofus offering us and Sarah unsolicited, uninformed, unwelcome and incoherent analysis/advice?

Spare us.

If Iowa and New Hampshire choose our candidate this will probably happen. Bambi will have a second term if that happens

I apologize.
For afew minutes, there, I thought you were being a bit overly-harsh...

He is also a correspondent for the critically acclaimed public television show ‘In the Life,’ and a former officer of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association.

Took about 5 seconds to find that; and lots more. With friends like that, Obummer...

Nowadays you can make all the stickers you want. Get them from an office supply store and tun them through your printer. Start your own guerrilla war.

"Palin has a net negative favorability rating of -17 percent. "

Hmmm...Obama has had worse than that (-23 if IIRC), so obviously he's a sure shot to lose.
