As if this is something new. It was his former aides in the 2008 McCain campaign who were trashing her before the election was decided. Oh, and no one has to convince real conservatives that he's the anti-Palin. And Governor Palin won't want for campaign cash if she announces, believe me!!

    Operation Chaos for Dems 2012.
They know a Mitty nomination will insure a Tea Party POTUS candidate on the ballot in most states.
Baraq’s only shot is a Clintonian plurality win. Stranger things have happened.

Thats his big mistake. He ought to have been out front taking on Obama all this time, if he wanted to be taken seriously. Obama has been on an anti-constitutional rampage for the last two years and Romney hasn’t been able to rouse himself to take notice. His followers spend all their ink on a fellow Republican and little or none on the Obamists.
He had a chance to be reborn as a leader and a warrior, except he never led and he is no warrior. He waits and positions himself and waits. Some day the phone will ring. Some day it will be his turn.

If Palin is like Reagan and Romney like Bush I.

    Spare me. The anti-Palin. Please.
There was a time when I considered Romney a potential candidate with the business acumen to turn the economy in the right direction.
No more. Not since Romneycare.
(BTW,speaking of successful businessmen, not Trump either.)

I like Trump getting into the race - Split the Mitt vote.

I'm afraid it's a little more complicated than that. Just like Perot getting a lot of conservative votes he didn't deserve based on his positions, Trump's demeanor may divert as many or more votes from Palin than from Romney.

A lot of people vote on character impressions, or on outsider vs. insider. Better candidates like Daniels and Pawlenty are more likely to take from Romney.

With Romney, he must be beaten soundly in Iowa ... no surprise second place finish.

Then his performance in New Hampshire must be described as practically a home state win. Bill Clinton, who won neither Iowa nor New Hampshire used this successfully against Mass. Senator Paul Tsongas, who was never heard from again. Then, Romney finishes low in South Carolina. Describe any wins in Nevada or Utah as Mormons voting for a Mormon. Nothing against Mormons politically, but that was what happened last time (except for Paul's shenanigans in Nevada). I remember normally-conservative Greeks who voted for Dukakis. For certain groups, identity politics is hard to overcome. Whoever is the front-runner should concentrate on the Michigan primary (2/28/2012). Knock Romney out in an important "home" state and he's done.

I am not going to vote for the son of a Michigan Governor, I’m not going to vote for a former Massachusetts Governor. I don’t care what his religion is, I don’t care what party he says he belongs to. He is a quisling and an appeaser and I will have no part of him.

Trump's demeanor may divert as many or more votes from Palin than from Romney. I think not. People that support Sarah Palin do so because they can readily see how she lives her values; one need only need to see the photo of her with Trig to know that. Trump? Get real....bad bad comb-back/over/sideways/back-to-front (whatever it is and how he does it). He's a showboat and a moneymaker schemer that would be well-suited to be a Barnum and Bailey Barker. The only way he'll get any real semblance of vote support if he gives away a Trump Atlantic City weekend with a hooker. You really can't be serious.
