Is the idea that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could be Americas next president laughable? Not only to many on the left, but also to conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer.
On Fridays broadcast of Inside Washington, Krauthammer offered several reasons why Palin shouldnt be considered the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential election.
What do you mean if not Sarah Palin in 2012? Krauthammer said. Whos saying shes going to be the presidential candidate? I dont even hear her saying it. Her chances of being are smaller than half a dozen other people. If you talk to Republicans, I dont think there are what, more than one in three who would tell you she has a chance of winning the presidency or even the nomination.
Because of that, he said, she wasnt the favorite.
And she is not the favorite, he continued. She has a very strong core constituency but outside of that I think she is rather weak.
Krauthammer has previously downplayed Palins chances and indicated he favors Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels. He said Palin would not be the ideal candidate to unseat a vulnerable President Barack Obama.
Her negatives are over 50 percent, Krauthammer said. She has no chance of winning a general election. Why would you want a candidate who is going to lose against a Democrat who is going to be vulnerable and who is also extremely ideologically ambitious?
He even employed a Keith Olbermann catch phrase to describe Palin and said even fellow Republicans didnt see Palin as qualified.
A half-term governor? Im not sure Republicans think of her as qualified. Krauthammer said.

They simply cannot stomach the idea that someone might dance in religious observance, or jump and shout, or toss their arms in the air.
I'm sure the "Kraut" is smart enough to get over it if he really tries, but I think he'd rather get pushed down another stairwell FIRST.
So, guys, no, I'm not a Pentecostal but I do recognize the problem here ~ because it's so terribly universal. Watch Karl Rove go off his nut faced with the prospect of COD running for political office ~ (No, I don't have that one handy, but I saw it).
Sometimes these guys get even ~ former Republican party boss in the state legislature was a long term pol from Columbus Indiana, and they organized and got him bumped. He must have sneered at them or something.
He is elisist. I wonder if any of it has to do with age.
The more he talks the more you have to like her.
Happy New Year
I want to scream every time that someone says that Palin would make a bad president because she doesn’t have enough experience. I guess the experience thing would explain why Obastard has been such a disaster.
Charles Krauthammer, like most beltway elites, is completely blind to the historic epoch unfolding before us now. He pooh-poohs the Tea Parties, the mandate of the midterm elections, and of course, the leader of the burgeoning revolution in America.
Ten years from now, the world will be talking about how President Palin turned America (and the world) around, but few will remember this jaded pontificator.
He’s the definition of a jealous, elitist a-hole
Your HARRY poll shows that “Half-term governor” Palin comes in with a huge plurality for first place. In second, half term governor Chris Christie. In third, 1/3 term Senator Marco Rubio.
Are we seeing a trend here? Maybe being a half-term governor is a plus, not a minus. Maybe conservatives want a new face, or at least one that isn’t too comfortable with the ways of Washington, or even the state house.
Face it—if she gets nominated in ‘12, they will harp on the Quitter aspect. And frankly, its justified. She quit when things got tough and chose to be a professional celebrity. . AWas it fair? No, but life ain’t fair. Anyone here who imagines that charge won’t stick is smoking something. I think it great that she raises $$ for conservative candidates, but she is simply not electable as POTUS.
Heh--he's SUCH a smartypants...
I'd really like to know how one gets into Harvard Med School without a science degree. I guess it can happen, maybe he really did take calculus and organic chemistry? Or, maybe it was family connections that got him in?
I'd like to hear what he'd have to say about that...
I have stopped watching FNC because it has become RINOvision.
He's one of a long series of fifth-columnists who are effective for an election cycle or so and then become "independents" or outright democrat because "the Republican party has swung so far to the right". There must be a dozen people who have done this over the past twenty years. People who were quoted and characterized by the media as conservatives but when they slipped up or when they were needed for other things, zip, they just slid right into the democrat fascist camp and were welcomed with open arms.
Thank you for your "concern". Now, please step aside and let the Governor through. She's got an appointment with destiny.
We have to support others whom we can be more certain about like Herman Cain.
Oh, by all means. Let's nominate someone who only one out of a hundred Republican voters have ever heard of, and who has never held elective office before. By all means.
Who signs the front of your paychecks anyway? Are you assigned to work Free Republic, or do you just freelance?
Who bought Kraut? I always liked him for an intellectual sort, but in these awful times why be so persnickity against Palin and lauding the ONE for this and that recently? Something more than opinion is up with Charles.
Maybe his readership is down, requiring shock shucking for a boost.
If you talk to Republicans, I don’t think there are more than one in three who have even HEARD of Mitch Daniels.”
Absolutely. And when they get to know him far fewer than that will actually like the guy. Krauthammer said a few weeks ago Daniel’s lack of charisma is actually a positive after the current disaster in the WH. Of course, Kraut also forgot to mention he was one of the faux conservatives who has periodically slobbered all over zer0.
Sorry you didn’t like my post. Those are however, my thoughts and my right to post them. You also have the right to jump on them too. Happy New Year.

Puh-leeeze....my monitor! Hilarious. :)
Blah, blah, blah...get lost ground chuck. An opinion from you is not much more valuable than an opinion from Chrissy Matthews.
I think Sarah appeals to a lot more people than the libs would care to admit.....if she does run, she could have a huge win.
Sure they will. And will that persuade you to vote for Obama? No?
Use your head. Those who can be swayed by the MSM's knocks on Sarah Palin weren't ever going to vote for her anyway. Sarah's supporters already know the truth of the events surrounding her resignation, and understand that she outfoxed those who were trying to destroy her.
You're pushing the enemy line, here. I hope you know that.
