Bill Kristol, the Fox News analyst and Weekly Standard editor, made a couple of predictions on Fox News Sunday about the GOP presidential race:
“Can I go out on a limb, since everyone else is scared to say — actually make any predictions. I predict Palin will not run. I have no knowledge at all; I just have the hunch that she ultimately will not run.
I think Newt Gingrich is underestimated. Newt is going to run and Newt will be formidable. People can talk about the baggage, but lots of candidates have had lots of baggage, and people think they’re the right guy for the job, he could do better — and I do think — than people expect.”
Kristol has been an advocate for Palin in the past, so his prediction about her candidacy is interesting in that light. I also think he’s correct. Palin has peaked politically, and will be taken less and less seriously from here on out. A year from now, she’ll be considered little more than a curiosity. Public Policy Polling — admittedly, a Democratic-leaning polling firm — says that even in Alaska, her popularity has plummeted....

These guys are such a joke.
Gingrich couldn’t even get his campaign off the ground in 2008. He’s smart, but he’s not that likable or, forgive me for saying it, Presidential-looking.

They are writing this BS in hopes that if enough people read the same crap again and again, it will make it true. The left knows that Sarah Palin an beat Obama, but they hope if they throw enough feces at the wall, something will stick

Jay Bookman is the head resident liberal at the AJC since Cynthia Tucker was pushed out into bloggerland/Wash DC. I don’t need to read the article. His opinion of the GOP race is irrelevant.
For the longest time, I arespected NG. But when he sat on the couch with San Fran Nan Pelosi to spew about Global Warming, he lost me. Yet, I hope he is not completely out of the mix. He was the dominant being against the Dems to the culmination republican revolution in '94. And there was a reason he was selected and elected the speaker of the House upon this revolution. The Dems went after him with a vengeance. He resigned. Since then, he seems to have lost his way and wants to be revelvant again. Shame on him.
Krystol speaks like he needs an enema. Just a hunch.
I keep reading about the supposed “baggage” of Palin...what exactly is that baggage? Does she have unpaid parking tickets somewhere or something?

I agree that Gingrich is wasting his time, but Sarah P is a whole different story.
Even so - I would not hesitate to nominate either one.
