JOHN DICKERSON, Slate: Sarah Palin has special medicine. Thats about the only clear conclusion to be drawn from Tuesdays primary results. She backed five candidates in Arizona, Florida and Alaska and they all won. The rest of the results from the evening defied easy matching. . . Palin now has more support for a favorite story line of hers: The pundits and so-called experts said things were going to go one way but she had faith; she knew the real deal. This is part of her larger pitch: that she understands something fundamental about conservative voters. That, in turn, is what voters believe about her, which makes them think she has a special light to guide the country out of the muck.
JENNIFER RUBIN, Commentary: Being a political soothsayer and a superb judge of talent doesnt ensure a successful candidacy or an effective presidency. But its not nothing. And having experienced an over-credentialed, pseudo-intellectual president who lacks a basic understanding of the American people, the public may find something refreshing about someone who gets what the country is about. Palin knows what to look for in candidates because she is in sync with the centre-right zeitgeist.
KEN BLANCHARD, SouthDakotaPolitics.Blogspot.com: When Sarah Palin resigned as governor almost everyone (yours truly included) thought it was a dumb, even inexplicable move. Well, guess who looks smart and who looks dumb now. . . . Had she remained a governor with hopes of a presidential run in 2012, she would have had to start all over again. She would also have left behind a Dan Quayle-like reputation. Palin guessed that this was her year to be a national force, and she guessed right.
CHRIS WEIGANT, Huffington Post: Whether her clout wins some races or loses some races, the big honking important thing (to her, at any rate) is that everybody in the media is raptly paying attention. Major news sites not only have their traditional red/blue maps of the individual races to see the state of the polling, most of them have also now added a Sarah Palin pick record map as well. If you think about that for a minute, it really is kind of stunning. Nobody else in politics, that I can remember, has ever gotten the media to examine their picks with such microscopic detail Democrat or Republican.
ABC NEWS: Shes had her winning streaks and shes had her slumps. Earlier this year, Sarah Palin seemed like a Republican king- and queen-maker, helping candidates score a string of victories in hard-fought Republican primaries in South Carolina, Kentucky, California, New Mexico, Iowa, Texas and elsewhere. Since July 20 and up until last night, six Palin-supported candidates had been on the ballot and all had lost.
MARK MARDELL, BBC: Its true John McCain won after she backed him against a Tea Party supporter. Its true that in her home state of Alaska, it seems her support has helped propel a little-known Tea Party activist to victory over the sitting senator. And its true the other three candidates she endorsed have won. But beware. It is wise to be a little wary when looking for patterns . . . and trends in elections. Sometimes there are trends of great importance. Sometimes they have as little predictive power as a pattern in a flight of birds or a chickens guts.
STEVE M., NoMoreMister.Blogspot.com: Shes savvy enough, or her advisers are savvy enough, to play up her skills at turning out Republican votes at this time. But I suspect she thinks shes hotter stuff than that. And the upcoming GOP wave election may feed her delusion this go-round, the broader electorate will vote for a lot of her candidates, and she may credit herself. And that will motivate her toward a presidential run.
ELEANOR CLIFT, PoliticsDaily.com: Palins win-loss ratio is unlikely to improve in November since most of the candidates she favors tend to be so far to the right that if they get through the primary, theyre outflanked in the general election. . . Theres a difference between having a sliver of the electorate love you madly and reaching out to 50 per cent plus to win a national mandate.
And yes, I realize in the Huffpo quote I just reposted that Miss Chris tried to be snarky by saying this fact is important “to her” (meaning Palin) as if it’s not important in its own right. Which it is. Which is why s/he (Chrissy) mentioned it in the first place.
A classic case of a leftist unable to restrain him/herself from pointing out an obviously important fact while at the same time trying to deride the importance of that fact.
You are all Idiot Savantes

Dear Pundits:
You are all idiot savants
There once was a gal from Wasilla
The media thought dumb as a gorilla.
She pulled a right Cross
Out of every “big loss”
On her way to the big White Villa.
That’s wonderful!!!
I wish I’d saved that Sarah pic of her blowing a kiss!
Come read this, by Melian!
Maybe we should have a “Limericks for Liberals” thread. It would be fun to skewer them and it would keep us cheerful during this battle.
Yep, and her privates are all dried up.
No love there.

What a great idea!
You’re talented and it would be a lot of fun!!
Jennifer Rubin wasn't saying that to be kind to Obama. I think the implication is long on "credentials" and short on talent and experience.
Or as they say in Texas, "all hat and no cattle".
ROFLOLOL.
You know you’re right! LOL.
I love it! Sarah would too!
Didn’t like my spelling? LOL
I was trying to work “vanilla” into it too, but gave up! LOL!
Thanks for enjoying it.
Leni
