Sarah Palin Gets an ‘A’ on the Curve, but Full Credit Remains for Someone

This is worth our time. It is Sarah Palin’s address, then her joining with Dennis Prager and Hugh Hewitt for questions and answers, last Saturday 5/22, at the Saturday 5/22, at the University of Denver:

(VIDEO AT LINK)

The event covered the bases of what constitutes inspiring conservatism, to the conventional 2010 mind and Governor Palin was luminous of mind and heart. Some even call her edgy and by conventionality’s standards, she is. But two critical aspects of the doings of 2010 were missing on this evening, again. They are what is never communicated in polite Republican speeches, whether in reference to the current regime in the District of Columbia, or the broader usurpations presently schemed on lower Manhattan Island.

One observation left unexpressed is of the devastating, intentional sabotage of America, by causing its catastrophic economic and moral failure. This gambit of evil doers is intended to result in the transformation of a panicked America into a people thoroughly dependent upon the Marxist/fascist state, while the manipulated, community organized and unioned-up “proletariat” lead the way, in revolt. Call it Alinskyite, or Cloward-Piven, or Greecification. Call it revolution or insurrection; it is the Marxist method and the reason for the career path of Barack Obama, Saboteur in Chief.

Necessary for that revolution is the other element never fully articulated in the Republican speeches brought at least, to these ears: the elimination of the American sovereignties.(continued)

Much as I like Palin, when joined by Hewitt and Praeger, her repetitive mantras of common sense solutions and hard working people seem lacking in depth of thought. I’m not saying she can’t develop a program that goes well beyond the platitudes, I just don’t think she has done so.Still she greatly fills a role, much as Sam Adams did in arousing the cause of liberty while his cousin John and men like Jefferson coped with the realities of implementing those ideas.

Her speech was far from repetitive mantras, as Hewitt said, it was nuanced, well developed and very informative. Go into the speech to the twenty minute mark and listen, then advance it ten minutes or so and you'll see.

For Hewitt to say what he said was quite a turn around, as he has hinted before that she may not have the full ability to lead. Saying what he did about her at the end was a very powerful endorsement of her abilities, and a very sincere one.

Sorry, you're being snookered by the old left wing, paulbot, Romney talking points.

That being said, I hope she gets a speech coach to help her not elevate her voice so high when she gets into her points.

Amen. Female politicians tend to sound shrill after a while. Michelle Bachman is the only one I can think of off hand whose voice doesn’t get on my nerves after a few minutes.

I guess your comment means you saw the speech and the panel Q&A. Hugh Hewitt sure seemed impressed by the governor, all the more meaningful considering he has been extremely lukewarm towards Palin.

During the discussion Hewitt commented directly about an aspect of Sarah's speech, U.S. policy towards Iran:

"If you listened closely to Governor Palin's speech, there was a very comprehensive critique, very sophisticated, very detailed, of the path we are on and why it will not deter this most dangerous of regimes."
In his closing remarks, Hewitt was even more complimentary when he was talking about Gov. Palin and attributes of "transformative political leaders". Check it out.

Reagan got accused repeatedly of being "shallow", even within his own party. Sarah's doing fine.

Hewitt’s a RINO pushing weasel. Prager is a Scoop Jackson style cold war liberal. Palin should try finding some conservatives to hang with.

Hugh was a Romney dead ender last time around. Even wrote a book supporting him: “A Mormon In the White House”

I'm not choosing based on vocal quality (where Sarah gets a B- at best), or beauty (where she's an A, somewhat behind the A+ I married). I want integrity, patriotism, and common sense, combined with demonstrated executive experience. Sarah is at least an A- in those areas, which puts her well ahead of any other electable candidate I can think of. I'd love to see someone even better emerge, but I'm still waiting. Unless/until that happens, I'm leaning in Sarah Palin's direction.

Sarah's optimism, strong belief in the constitution and the principles of America's founding, her common sense solutions to Obama's foolish policies, her belief in God and in the goodness of America combine make her a rising, shining star in the GOP.

It was a great video with a great introduction, and I love the music as well.

I understand what you mean about her raised pitch, but that’s sincere passion at work there.

The animating contest of freedom is well, animated. I’ll take that over The Won’s tele prompted droning any day.

IIRC, Reagan's stump speeches were similar. People liked the fact that he talked about a limited number of issues, but made sure folks understood exactly where he stood on them.

The depth of thought has come in when Sarah writes opinion pieces, where she delves into particular subjects.

I don't have a problem with her hanging around the less conservative Repubs and Dems. If they're willing to listen to her, and consider her positions on the issues, more power to her!

In 1966 I watched Reagan chew Bobby Kennedy up and spit him out in a debate conducted over satellite with Oxford students.(one of whom was Bill Bradley.)Anyone watching that night never doubted that Reagan was the real deal. The Dems who said otherwise were in denial. As far as Palin’s written pieces, they’re good, but Reagan’s thoughts, not publicly available at the time, show a man with a wonderful depth of thought and imagination.
