'Boycott Chuck Norris'
Real Clear Politics ^ | January 25, 2008 | Blake Dvorak

That's the name of a new anti-Huckabee web site started by former Thompson staffer Darrel Ng. Jonathan Martin has more on the site:

Now that his candidate is out of the race, one Thompson staffer has gone the next stop and is actively working against Huck. Sorta.

Darrel Ng, perhaps the heartiest and most dogged of Thompson's aides and somebody who logged many a mile on the Fred bus, has launched a website called "Boycott Chuck Norris."

Yup, Ng now wants people to show their disregard for Huck by not patronizing any companies that use Norris as a pitchman. The actor/exercise maven is, of course, a staple of Huck's campaign, stumping with him throughout the country and even showing up at press conferences.

"I came up with the idea earlier this week, and since I recently found myself with some time on my hands, I decided to put this together," Ng said in an e-mail when asked how the site came about.

It's a pretty angry site and certainly doesn't cast its creator in the most generous light. But then, Ng is entirely correct to say that Norris' advocacy of Huckabee has made him fair game in the political arena.

Easier to boycott the Universe than Chuck Norris.

Doesn’t matter to me, one way or another. Chuck Norris may believe in his man Huck, but I do not, cannot, and will not.

The whole idea seems to be trying to punish Chuck Norris for exercising his constitutional right to express himself politically. Gee - I thought we believed in the first amendment, as conservatives.

I won’t purposefully boycott Chuck, but I will ignore his political advice.

Just my $.02.

This is just childish. This going after the people who DO endorsements, simply because you don’t like their candidates, really poisons the political landscape. If a public person has done something WRONG or ILLEGAL, then you go after them for it. But to attack a man’s livelyhood just because he likes a candidate you disapprove of is wrong.

It does seem kind of petty. Go after the candidate but leave the endorsers alone.

Reminds me of the poster who said Chuck Yeager is a cross dresser because he endorsed Hunter.

IMO, huck was/is a liberal’s wet dream, second only to the idea of McCain going 3rd party or joining hillary on her ticket.

The guy has zero chance to win, and has diluted a very large fraction of voters to join him in tilting at windmills.

I openly believe that Fred would be in this race were it not for Huck, but, in fact, that is the position that we have contributed to by electing RINOs to the party.

Rove was right. We will fall in line. - Just like the black vote stays on the Master’s plantation, when a real Conservative bows out, the supporters rush to a socialist RINO type, who they all believe has “the best chance” to defeat hillary.

Well, that proves Rove right, and loses the election to boot.

and then we will all sit around pointing fingers and saying, “how did it come to this?”

It came to this by doing exactly what we are doing, and the GOP is simply following the path of least resistance that they perceive will garner power.

Nothing was learned in 06.

Agreed.

Agreed-it is childish, petty, and wrong.

I wonder who the guy is supporting now.

That’s silly. It’s a free country, and if Chuck Norris truly thinks that Huckabee would be a good President, he has every right to say so, even if he is mistaken.

sorry I won’t boycott Norris, that is childish

He has been on the right side of politics his whole career in a community that eschews that.

so what if you don’t like his GOP preference....just let it go.

This is a free country and anyone can endorse anyone they wish. I personally like Chuck Norris, and think he’s misguided, but if everyone boycotted everyone who endorsed somebody we didn’t like or disagreed with, then no one would sell records or movies.

This is not right. Regardless of whether you like Chuck Norris or not. We should not be in the business of trying to personally destroy a private citizen, or anyone for that matter, because they endorsed a candidate we don't like!

Isn't that what this is about?? Why not just also, personally destroy Huck for daring to run and expose those who contributed to his campaign and attack them as well?!

This is the kind of stuff the Democrats do. This is not the direction any of us should be moving towards. It is a waste of time and energy. We have enough battles to fight and we don't need to engage in this kind of crap!
