GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson stops in Austin (with Video)
KVUE-TV ^ | September 19, 2007

AUSTIN -- Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson has toured a Dell computer factory near Austin as part of a campaign swing through Texas.

Thompson sat down and spoke one-on-one with KVUE's Elise Hu. He says he wants to hear from companies like Dell to get their views on fair tax policies and global competition.

Thompson downplays the idea that he's at a disadvantage in Texas because he got such a late start on his campaign. He says there's plenty of time to get his message out.

Sometimes he makes no sense at all, sometimes he’s condescending and sarcastic, and at times, his ramblings are left to interpretation, time and again leaving his supporters scrambling to explain, justify, and defend.

One could easily say the same thing about your posts.

I am sure each of you have seen the follow on posts concerning Fred’s “Plutonic Warming” editorial, are you man or woman enough to admit you are wrong?

Oh, so his stated position has changed from one thing to another - or at least the perception is that. So, using the logic displayed by many Romney detractors here, I guess that you COULD say that Thompson "flip-flopped" on this issue and is now a "flip-flopper"? No? Can you say double standard?

By the way, all that I said was that those specific comments sounded like recent similar comments made by Giuliani. And they did, your hysterics notwithstanding.

Spiff, c'mon. Fred did not say the warming we've seen is human-caused, just that some part of it is. That viewpoint is completely compatible with pointing out the sun is causing global warming on other bodies in the solar system. Humans might cause ten percent, the sun ninety percent. His point is, we don't know.

The more critical point was to tie any action by this country to actions by China and India. That kills what is left of Kyoto, and basically means there would be no action, since China and India ain't gonna hamstring their economies.

Who are you defending - Fred or Rudy? All I said is that they both said similar things about human-caused global warming.

"I do. I do believe there's global warming. Yes. And...and I...I think there are...I'm not a scientist all I can do is look at the reports. I think the last one said that...uh...ummm...fir-fir-first of all there's definitely global warming as far as I can tell. I guess the big question has always been how much is it, how much of it is happening because of just natural climate changes and progressions and how much is happening because of human intervention - carbon in particular - and the overwhelming majority of the scientists believe that there's significant human cause that's making it more difficult, making it worse."

~~~ Rudy Giuliani Press Conference, Silicon Valley, Feb 12, 2007
LINK to Video
So Rudy believes the scientific experts, many who are leftwing environmental wackos, that there is "significant human cause" to global warming. Fred didn't say that, nor does he believe that.
Significant means substantial.
Giuliani is agreeing with the liberals like Algore and A.Schwarzy, then to folks like Rush Limbaugh and climate expert Bill Gray, meteorology professor emeritus at Colorado State U. Looks like Rudy is solidly with the liberals, AGAIN!
Spiff,
What I am trying to get at is that you seem to be consistently putting the most negative spin possible on anything that Fred states.
From reading and watching your posting history, it does not become you.
Not really. But you're entitled to your opinion.
He wasn’t asked what “people would go for”. He was asked about GW, am I missing something here? Why is all the spin necessary for such a “straight talker”?
I thought, “we were going to have to do some things, differently”? There is nothing different here. At least, I haven’t noticed any shortage of this kind of windsock pandering BS in previous elections.
"You are a hopeless shill."
What Kimberly is or isn't, doesn't matter. Do you know what a shill is? Apparently not, because she doesn't act like something she is not or that she's a Fred supporter to sell her point. That is what a shill does. Kimberly is absolutely and unapologetically, first and foremost, a Hunter supporter and has never pretended otherwise. What she said was correct. Fred says everything and nothing and his supporters pick the position they like and attribute it to Fred. He has to really believe one of his positions, right? You can spin all you want and make whatever assertions about posters you wish; but in the end, you and I both know the truth, don't we?
Too bad, that video is very disappointing to say the least.
I wish I could convince some of my family why Hunter is better then Fred. Fred is not a bad person it is not that, it is just that Hunter is, truly is the ONLY one that will save our country and do the right thing. The only one that truly is a real conservative.
Yeah, you're fulla crapola.
Fred offers his conservative position and opinion on all the issues. Problem is, you Duncanista`s in the "pissant brigade" don't want to hear it. Never have. Just because Fred is kicking Hunter's butt all over FRee Republic, is no reason for you to get offended. Besides, if you think it hurts now, wait until Hunter drops out and endorses Fred. You'll be bouncing off the walls.
Fred's positions on this is actually much clearer than Hunter's. When Hunter was asked about Global Warming he went off on a tangent about energy independence and how that would somehow solve global warming.
And people do use shill as I do.....here is one definition, albeit from the other side of the pond
SHILL (noun) Term for a biased fan, or employee of a wrestling company, who's inability to criticize or disagree with anything that person's favourite promotion does ultimately negates their credibility.
Wow Rudy sounds like Al Gore.
I bet you could read voters this qoute then ask them if it was said by Rudy or Al, and I bet you most people would say Al. Then be shocked when they find out the Republican front runner said this.
