Don't Forget to Vote Tomorrow!
Light turnout expected in primary
Candidates for statewide office, House are among those seeking nomination
by Tyler Whitley, Richmond Times Dispatch
Voters will go to the polls tomorrow to nominate candidates for statewide office, the House of Delegates and municipal offices in a smattering of localities.
LOL!!!!
For years I was generally within the first 10 voters..........but I was also generally doing some kind of work that day - poll watcher, greeter, errand runner, etc.
I was the 65th voter, and 62nd Republican, in MY precinct at 7:55. . .
IMO 10% turnout is ambitious. We'll be lucky to see 5%.
Just so the R turnout number isn't high because of D's "crossing over" to support RINO candidates like Fitch and Connaughton. I'm hoping that with a tight four-way Lt Gov race the D's will play in their own sandbox this time, but I'm not hopeful...
That's one of the reasons we got Joe Schwarz in Congress.
ping for tonight
Leaving work NOW so I'll get there in time...
Actually, Dem leaders are urging their people to cross over to vote for Fitch and Bolling. They view Fitch beating Kilgore now as the only way they can stop him since they don't have confidence in Kaine. They also view Bolling as easier to beat in November, so they are trying to get their people to vote for him.
And I have never heard anyone refer to Fitch as a RINO. In fact, I hear he is more conservative than Kilgore.
I think the RINO label was pasted on Fitch when Russ Potts endorsed him (or said he voted for him in the primary).
I think Fitch is probably an okay guy. I would have preferred seeing him take on Potts or Chichester for a Senate seat. And maybe he'll do that after today.
Fitch has already said that if he doesn't win the primary today, he plans to move to Arizona.
That's too bad. It's also a sure sign he doesn't really care about Virginia.
Yeah, I'd heard that they don't think Kaine can pull out a win this November. He has all of Mark Warner's negatives, and none of his advantages.
They also view Bolling as easier to beat in November...
That's foolish. None of their four Lt Gov candidates could touch Bolling in a statewide race.
The Dems just have such a freakish cast to choose from, they should be screwed any way you look at it. Any of our guys could beat any of theirs any day of the week.

I've not heard anything on the news....any update on results? How long does it take to count 200 votes? ;-)
