The Boston PD seem to see it another way.

That's exactly right. They said the following about issuing summonses

"But we are looking for more detailed information before that happens,"

Which is exactly my point and which is another thing you left out of your first post.

The Yankees bullpen really distinguished themselves yesterday.

If it weren't for Red Sox castoffs, they wouldn't win at all.

Zimmer has publicly apologized for charging Pedro, ...witnesses agree what happened in the bullpen, and the pitchers threw the first punch (and then stomped the grounds-crew guy with their cleats), ...that the Yankee rightfielder jumped the wall to take part in the beating of said grounds crew guy, apparently just for the fun of it.

Good enough for me.

I have no problem with any of the facts in your post. Zim was in the wrong, as was Garcia (in the bullpen incident).

But I did notice how you omitted Man-Ram's role in yesterday's melee. He and his loudmothed compatriot Pedro instigated the whole incident -- the former by charging the mound on a Clemens pitch that wasn't even close to hitting him, and the latter by talking trash to every Yankee hitter after they just rung him up for 4 runs .....and then intentionally beaning Garcia.

Very selective of you.

And speaking of facts, here's one for you: 1918

I gave you a direct quote from the police;

"But we are looking for more detailed information before that happens,"

You give me a second-hand account from unnamed witnesses.

"...witnesses agree what happened in the bullpen".

That may be good enough for you but it isn't good enough for me.

I think they will start burkett monday even though your logic makes sense to have burkett start 7 would be a heart stopper for us sox fans.

wouldnt it make more sense to start wakefield mon go with lowe on wed and go with burkett in game 6

As long as you agree with those facts, that's all that matters to me. The other facts you mentioned are not in question. What you just admitted is that both teams were at fault, and that the Yankees contributed in large part to the violence we witnessed yesterday.

That's the first admission of its kind I have heard from a Yankee fan.

Anyone can be a Yankee fan. It requires no effort or loyalty whatsoever. Your team wins a lot, and makes sure to have all the best players. That's okay, but I'd rather root for a team with some character, heart, and drive to win. It makes our season very exciting when they are doing well.

Go Red Sox.

There is no game on Monday. Game 4 is Tuesday, from what I just read.

And if I were a Sox fan I woudn't want Burkett to start game 6 (a likely game) . I'd rather him (or Wakefield) start game 7 (a less likely game).

I think it'll be Wakefield in game 4 (bypassing Burkett), Lowe in game 5, Pedro in game 6 (if necessary), and the whole crew (starting with either Wakefield or Burkett) in game 7 (again, if necessary).

Yeah, you Red Sox fans are full of something, all right.

How about the Red Sox fan who yelled "Kill him - kill Zimmer" after Pedro knocked Zimmer to the ground? Zimmer's family, including his crying six-year-old granddaughter, were there to hear that.

Or how about the Red Sox fans who threw bottles and rocks at the Yankees' team bus last night? Or maybe those classy BoSox fans who threw trash on the field in 1999? Or the obnoxious chanting of "Rog-er" yesterday. Not to mention Pedro and Manny's psychopathic behavior.

Spare me the self-righteousness, please.

There was always a game scheduled for Monday. (Game 5.) That game will be played (8pm), and then this game will be made up on Tuesday (which was a travel day.)

Yes, I believe there's enough blame to go around.

Anyone can be a Yankee fan. It requires no effort or loyalty whatsoever.

Well, we had a World Series dry spell between 1979 and 1995 (a very long time for us), so it did indeed require some effort and loyalty during some of those sub-.500 years.

And there was another dry spell between '63 and '77, a spell that featured the worst teams in (post-1920) Yankee history.
