The Poetry Branch has been in limbo since the prior hostess left FreeRepublic April 15th 2003. We've since learned that said hostess has lost her posting privilege. That being the case, and Jim Robinson having given his ok, I wanted to renew the thread.

FreeRepublic is blessed with many fine poets, and we look forward to seeing their poems posted on FR once again. There were many non-poet FReepers who visited the Poetry Branch for the camaraderie; we hope they will return.

I would like to invite everyone to visit and relax at Poetry and Potpourri. Hopefully you will renew old acquaintances for chatting, sharing jokes, telling stories, posting cartoons, etc. Everyone needs a place to escape from the everyday news, make Poetry and Potpourri that place.

I think they said Glenwood and are possibly headed for Nebraska. Here's what I typed quickly, some details missing:

tucker franklin height, age (?), reddish blonde hair blue eyes stephanie ann height white female 35 120 lb blond hair blue eyes red 4dr oldsmobile(?) 2000, license Iowa 464MNN.

The authorities fear the child may be harmed and said the abductor (which sounds like the mother) may be dangerous.

They haven't broken in to Sean's show again. It was on twice tonight.

These amber alerts would work better if they had a central website and kept it updated. I can't find anything on the net.

We just had another one this week and the child was found unharmed in Mason City.

This is an original poem I wrote when I truly believed love was forever. Guess the jokes on me!!

Our love is truly special
and cannot me tossed aside
These feeling that we share
We can never hide.

People will try hard
to draw us both apart,
but before you let it happen
look closely at your heart.

I have come to believe in you
because I can already see
The value of our relationship
I know how great our love can be.

So please look deep into your heart
and see your love for me

I have seen an Amber Alert Ticker that works in real time and can be added to a website. I am not sure where it originates from, but it is worth checking into. It would be a good addition to FR, imo.
