I used to hate autumn because it was the beginning of school. That was reason enough to despise it.

But my mom has always liked autumn best and now I understand why. Summers here in Tennessee and in western Nebraska where I grew up are just too darned hot to enjoy. Autumn weather comes as such a welcome relief from the summer heat and everything else about it is so welcome.

I feel my mood, if anything, is lifted by autumn.

Well friends, I must bid farewell for the day. It's time to head to the house and get some things done.

Will be heading to a State Park tomorrow (weather permitting) to do some hiking with Mrs. Rivendell, so I need to get the lawn mowed today!!!
