In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

deride \de*ride\, verb:
deriding, derides, derided; transitive verb
derider; derision noun

It appears that the mother of all thunderstorms is headed my way-it is as dark as it will be at about 8:00 pm outside. Hubby called to make sure I had made it home okay, and said the thing poured so much rain when it passed over that the sidewalks and parking lot where he works are still awash. I went to the weather service and sure enough, there was the warning for imminent flooding for Kerr, Kendall, Bandera and several other counties up here. Now it is thundering, and that lightening is too close for comfort with a computer on...I'll come back after this passes by.

for getting colors, you can also replace the numbers/letters that indicate the color with "blue" or "lightblue" or "red" etc to make it easier than looking up the color code. That works for most colors. Like this is using "blue" This is "red" Lightblue This is Steelblue (which is hubby's old online nickname) Purple Chartreuse yellow orange Hotpink All of those colors are put in the quotes just like i spelled them in place of the color codes. I'm sure many more colors work the same way. Those are just all I could think of right now.

BTW Anyone know how to make the rainbow type? Where each letter is a different color?

notice that CJ did not say that his TWO BOYS together now weigh half what he does....

So, it's math and social science class both, or would that fall under biology?

We aren't having Christmas this year. I plan to tell the toddler it's because santa doesn't like crybabies.

Yeah, well we saw her "picture" and thought she was purty, until it was revealed that "she" had misrepresented herself and was actually a "he".

ROFL!!! I had a friend that I chatted with online (and still chat with in fact) that I thought was in his 20s. I found out 4yrs after I started chatting with him that he was 11 when we first starting chatting. He was one demented 11yr old too but was very intelligent. Luckily, I found him too strange to actually engage in playful flirting like i do with most people. He's 16 now and still demented but funny. He only lives an hour from me and bugs me all the time to meet him. (which won't happen)
