In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
deride \de*ride\, verb:
deriding, derides, derided; transitive verb
derider; derision noun
deridingly; adverb
1. To speak of or treat with contemptuous mirth.

3. Contemptuous or jeering laughter; ridicule.
4. A state of being derided.
It is in the nature of tyranny to deride the will of the people as the voice of the mob, and to denounce the cry for freedom as the roar of anarchy.

Hey, did the Admin Mod ping you guys to
this thread? I got pinged to it by him/her and made the horrifying mistake of clicking the link someone posted showing the offending photo. Advice: don't click it. I was wishing afterward it had just been a naked Hillary pic and wish there was a way to delete memory cells in my brain now.

The thread itself is OK (there is just a link to the image, not the image itself) and informative if the photo somehow ended up in your "my comments" page. They are telling people that if it's stuck there, they can't delete it. The person put the photo in replies to people and they can delete the post but can't remove it from your "my comments" page.
