My son had a friend that lived in the mountains above Leadville and raised Lamas, plus we had to see Pikes Peak. I loved the old Hotel there, that was well worth seeing, but I have to agree that's it's just a town with a beautiful view.
We almost made Glenwood Springs, but didn't have the time. The guys went there all the time. I saw Eagle being built before it was anything much. I really did love my trip there and wish we could have stayed longer, but I had young kids at home still. :( We took my sister with us, and she always said it was the best trip she ever had in her life. That always made the trip even more worthwhile..

Mo, you should write a book..."Mo's Helpful Hints (or how I learned everything the hard way)." ROTFL!

I would say that Mr. S is a realist. I believe the world needs realists.

It's a gorgeous day here. Not too hot (not this morning anyway) so I took along walk on Brushy Creek Trail, but didn't get many good pics. I have to find a good butterfly spot around here.

Pikes Peak is not in Leadville, it is in Manitou Springs (at least the Barr Trail is where you hike up it) as is the Cog Railway, although you can see it from other places. The access road to drive up Pikes Peak is in Chipeta Park, just above Manitou. I took Tyler up there on the railway last summer.

Is that last picture I posted showing up for you? I did it a little different to try and get it to show up larger.

It's a no show
To: sweetliberty
No it's a red X.
Oh I know Pikes Peak is not in Leadville, but the whole range could be viewed from there. I didn't have time to go further than that. ;)
Four days of hellacious fun was all I had..
To: ValerieUSA
Oh oh.. you will have to find a good spot is right. Otherwise we'll miss our flutterbys..
To: ValerieUSA
Strange. It showed up in the preview and when I clicked on the red x and chose "show picture" it worked the first time but not after that. Oh well. I guess I will post the smaller version.
.
Try clicking on the photo to get the larger version and let me know if that works. I think you will have to enlarge it after you open the link.

I'm going to be up in the prettiest part of Arkansas all this week (Eureka Springs, Berryville, Huntsville area). I have been looking forward to getting back up there so I can get some good pictures. I hope the weather is nice and that I have a little spare time.

I remember an article about Eureka Springs. It sounds like a really interesting area. I still haven't been to Arkansas or Oklahoma.

I would say that Mr. S is a realist. I believe the world needs realists. Many thoughts flood my mind for the term *realist when used in this way-
reading between the lines
Bitter
lack faith
luke warm
Not taking responsibility to endure!
It is easy to hang in there during the good times,
but the test comes when things get ruff!
IMHO
*It really depends on the foundation of ones CORE values!
What is realistic to me is to know where folks are coming from so communication can improve!
There must be some common denominator!

Bitter - Nope.
Lack of Faith - Wrong again.
Lukewarm - Really wrong again. Been my experience he's rather passionate ;o)
Not taking responsibility - wow, you're batting 0.
It is easy to hang in there during the good times,
but the test comes when things get ruff! - You really have got this man all wrong.
BZZZZZZ -- try again.
