My son had a friend that lived in the mountains above Leadville and raised Lamas, plus we had to see Pikes Peak. I loved the old Hotel there, that was well worth seeing, but I have to agree that's it's just a town with a beautiful view.

We almost made Glenwood Springs, but didn't have the time. The guys went there all the time. I saw Eagle being built before it was anything much. I really did love my trip there and wish we could have stayed longer, but I had young kids at home still. :( We took my sister with us, and she always said it was the best trip she ever had in her life. That always made the trip even more worthwhile..

It's a gorgeous day here. Not too hot (not this morning anyway) so I took along walk on Brushy Creek Trail, but didn't get many good pics. I have to find a good butterfly spot around here.

Pikes Peak is not in Leadville, it is in Manitou Springs (at least the Barr Trail is where you hike up it) as is the Cog Railway, although you can see it from other places. The access road to drive up Pikes Peak is in Chipeta Park, just above Manitou. I took Tyler up there on the railway last summer.
