Ohhh.. ours is just gunite gray.. (Does that have two N's or one?) Of course it's well over 25 years old.

The one in Fl has a lovely finish. It's called DiamondBrite. It really wears well.

How long in Peru, Horse?

So how long would you have to live in Peru? Somebody was telling me just last week about what a nice place Peru is to live.

"and the horse you rode in on"

It's an old western saying, and indicates nothing but an "In Your Face" attitude.

Servant of the Nine is not in the Tarzan series.
He is in a couple of parody takeoff Porno SCi-Fi novels by Phillip Jose Farmer, "A Feast Unknown" and "The Mad Goblin".
The name was chosen to make conspiracy theorists froth at the mouth. It obviously signifies some type of secret society membership, but is sufficiently obscure that it is not one they have ever heard of. The books have been out of print since the early '70s.

That's all there is to it, no endorsement of any ideas or theories in the novels, just hocus pocus.

Some of the western winters are brutal. I don't miss them at all. While I was in Colorado last week I had to go buy a jacket. Silly me. I didn't take one, although I should have known better. You can need one at any time of the year there. It got downright chilly some nights. I don't miss the allergies (I kept myself awake sneezing while I was there) or the seasonal depressions either. I enjoy my family and friends and the mountains and I do love Manitou Springs, but after a few days I'm ready to go.

Sometimes the winter sky out west is pretty amazing though.

I always thought that was such a silly thing to say. Cold is cold and -20 is COLD no matter whether it is dry or not!

Al and I went to Vail, CO. one winter for a looong weekend to visit our son. We had a ball and loved the area.

The drives to the little hidden villages in the mountains like Redcliff, and going up to Leadville to see Pikes Peak was wonderful.

I especially loved how it lightly snowed all the time, like you wish it did on Christmas Eve, and the Mexican food was to die for.. I have some great pics and great memories of that quick trip. Even the flight in to Vail on a Stal?plane in a blizzard. It was kind of scary..but we survived it all..including snowshowing and tubing down the mountain sides. ;)

It gets -20 up here in NH a lot. I've been snomobiling and cooking out on a grill at those degrees. It's not that bad, if it's not real windy.. ;)

I, on the other hand, realize that human life is cheap. NOT IN THE CREATOR EYES IS LIFE CHEAP!

Well, when he shows up to post personally, that will be relevant.

You call yourself Conservative your really an ANARCHIST!

I am a classic pre-1980 conservative, a Goldwater Conservative.
I am not one of the Reagan Democrats who seem to thing historical revisionism will wipe out what conservatism meant before they changed parties.

A lot of those little planes don't survive on those winter excursions. You'd be amazed how many go down in the winter in those mountains. It is a beautiful area and I enjoy camping in the mountains in Colorado. I like taking treks to Aspen and Breckenridge, but I like doing it in the summer (there's lot's to do there then too). I find Leadville a bit boring but for the history, but then I tend to enjoy the history of any area once I am familiar with it. Glenwood Springs is another nice area to visit and enjoy the outdoors. Here's one taken of my daughter in Aspen.

Servant of the Nine is not in the Tarzan series. ~ So9

***

A renegade servant of the Nine, Barcuna seizes power among the natives in Brazil. He causes massive work stoppages as people from all over Brazil and up and down the Amazon join his Jaguar Cult. He is building a power base for later action against the governments of Brazil and other South American countries. He promises death to those who will not join the Cult. And death does come, in the form of disease. The unbelieving villages and towns are raided by warriors wearing Jaguar costumes. They merely scratch their victims with disease infected leopard paws and let the disease run its course. Grandrith's mission is stop and kill Barcuna and to end the disease. He is accompanied by a female doctor who knows nothing of the Nine.- Tarzan

What I thought was interesting in this TARZAN series was your attitude towards human life and what the agenda of the Servant of Nine!

You say Tarzan has nothing with your user name yet as I read these senario's uou must admit your feeling towards life is cheap that you might have entertained your idea of human race! Anyway it stuck a chord!

"Although it is likely that Grandrith had been secretly receiving the elixir from birth, he was offered the elixir as an adult and brought into the inner circle of the Nine as one of their most favored servants. All of this was due to a schism inside the Nine. After several millennia of helping to shape history and embarking on a human breeding program, Grandrith should have been the culmination of their project. However, the Nine had heard of the reports of at least two other ape men who resembled Grandrith and more disturbingly, resembled the Undying God much closer than did Grandrith" -Tarzan

Beyond all this sillyiness I am baffled why your heart is so indifferent and hard!

Here's another from the Glenwood Springs area...Hanging Lake. It is quite a long (about 3 miles), steep hike to get to it, but well worth the effort. It is beautiful up there.

.... I am baffled why your heart is so indifferent and hard!

I am not indifferent to individuals I know, I care about them greatly, I just have no use for "The People".

There is a famous definition of Liberal and Conservative:
A Liberal loves mankind in general, but treats individuals with disdain.
A Conservative loves individuals, but treats mankind in general with disdain.

"it was the middle of May and we went up to Mt"

What mountain? A snowstorm in May is nothing. Quite common actually, especially at the higher elevations. Even in mid-summer it is unwise to go to the top of the high peaks without a coat. There can be a 20-30 degree difference in the temperature.

Of course, there is an upside to winter, at least when there's kids around and you don't have to get out and drive.
