Some of the western winters are brutal. I don't miss them at all. While I was in Colorado last week I had to go buy a jacket. Silly me. I didn't take one, although I should have known better. You can need one at any time of the year there. It got downright chilly some nights. I don't miss the allergies (I kept myself awake sneezing while I was there) or the seasonal depressions either. I enjoy my family and friends and the mountains and I do love Manitou Springs, but after a few days I'm ready to go.

Al and I went to Vail, CO. one winter for a looong weekend to visit our son. We had a ball and loved the area.

The drives to the little hidden villages in the mountains like Redcliff, and going up to Leadville to see Pikes Peak was wonderful.

I especially loved how it lightly snowed all the time, like you wish it did on Christmas Eve, and the Mexican food was to die for.. I have some great pics and great memories of that quick trip. Even the flight in to Vail on a Stal?plane in a blizzard. It was kind of scary..but we survived it all..including snowshowing and tubing down the mountain sides. ;)
