Sorry for the vanity, but are any other Texans experiencing brief flash power outages? We've had 4 in the last couple of hours here in DFW, 3 long enough to reset the clocks, and several minutes of slightly dimmed lights after the 2nd. In the last 3 years I can't recall any flash outages happening in this house except during storms, and there are none around Dallas this evening.
Normally I wouldn't bring it up, but 4 is kinda strange...

I can't say this with absolute certainty, but they just had the PR spokesman for the Austin electric cooperative on, and if I heard correctly, some areas of Austin is/were without power. Perhaps some other KLBJ/ am 590 listener in the area will have more info or be able to repeat what he said more accurately.

No problem down here. Must be a local thing.

Grid shows to be fine also.

OK, good, thanks for the info. I guess I'm going to have to have a talk with my neighbor about his backyard aluminum factory hobby...
Dang, ther goes a 5th flash, though smaller than the others. I'm in NE Tarrant Co.

The power loses have improved but the dimming is a routine event around here (Brownsville).

The power loses have improved but the dimming is a routine event around here (Brownsville). ....That's pathetic!
So switch power providers...Isn't that what your so called "deregulation" is for?

We got some blips in Collin County Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Just enough to make my UPS beep, it was enough to wake me up, briefly.
