In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

I thought I recognized you in that room. Why did you remain silent?

Winston Churchill said that if you were 20 and not a liberal that you have no heart, but if you are 40 and not a conservative that you have no brain.

Most all of them are flaming liberals. I became VERY uneasy working there after just a couple of years, and I never socialized with my co-workers, which made them think I was snooty. But at least they left me alone.

owning property and getting mugged also have a way of making you see things from a more conservative point of view.

and again, as i said at the reunion, it is easy to be a liberal, but then you grow up....
Bet you made lots of friends with that...but you are 100% correct!

Thank you.
You are the first person that has ever said I did the right thing in calling them, other than hubby. The conversation I had that day with the case worker was great - she actually appreciated my call and apologized for the grilling she initially gave me. She thought it was a set-up type call.

ROTFLMAO! I'll be sure to have the 'bot read your version of the Air Force song. That is really good.
This is kind of weird, but the girl cadets were given first choice for the MREs. There weren't enough for the boys. So the boys had to share. The 'bot gave most of his away, but saved the Fig Newtons and the crackers. He knew he could survive on a small amount of food for the duration of the camp. He came back skinny, but with a whole lot of muscle that I've never seen before.
On the way up to Flagstaff for his graduation, I was getting a little quesy in the tummy. Cyber got some Hostess Cupcakes for me, which I didn't eat. When the 'bot saw them in the car, he said, "Oh, my gosh, you have FOOD!" He scarfed those puppies down in a heartbeat.

Do you remember the next to last episode of Cheers, when Sam went to a Sex Addicts Anonymous meeting? Sharon Lawrence guest starred as one of the sex addicts and she went into this long narrative about her addiction and how it made her crave sex and how she wanted it in places where you risk getting caught in the act, etc. All the guys were noticeably uncomfortable after her speech, but Sam asked her out (and everyone else just shook their heads and moaned in disgust).
To: Slip18
hilarious that he would consider hostess cupcakes FOOD! i don't blame his strategy. i would prefer to subsist on cookies and cracker than to eat a bunch of crap that was gross. how SEXIST of them to give the girlies first dibs on the food!
