In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
pandemian \pan*dem*ee*an\, adjective
pandemianly; adverb
pandemiousness; noun
1. Vulgar
2. Sensual
The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.
Etymology: I couldnt find the etymology, double grades to the student who brings it to class!

I think she's a good actress. Her husband is the really funny one.

They won't allow me to make an appt unless I have a learners permit, but they won't let me have a learner's permit since I've had a GA license before. Soooo I'm stuck hunting down a day when I can just sit there all day and wait for them to fit me in (along with a bunch of others who have to be fit in as well.)

of course, xshub had to try and ruin it for me after i got home, by telling me that jamie lee curtis is a huge lib. I'm glad you liked the movie. I'll have to try to get out with the kids to see it soon too.
I really don't care about her politics (especially since she doesn't seem to be to vocal in pushing her political views on people who view her as simply an entertainer). She is an excellent comedic actress (and pretty easy on the eyes as well). I absolutely loved her in "Fish Called Wanda" and "Fierce Creatures". She and John Cleese are excellent together.

Rumor also has it that she was born a hermaphrodite... See post #444 for reason why all the croqs would respond in unison "Who cares!"

Rumor also has it that she was born a hermaphrodite... Don't think I buy that rumor.

i don't believe it either. and i'm not hot for her, either : )

well
HERE is the pro-fruit, religious response to those that say that Scripture prohibits same sex relationships...the New Testament doesn't say anything, therefore it is ok. RME.

I was worried there was a "turn the other cheek" joke in there somewhere.
To: Hegewisch Dupa
Honey, those types don't turn cheeks.... as it were, but I'll leave the rest of the comment unsaid as to not ruin my reputation as a teacher of quality.
To: RikaStrom; Hegewisch Dupa
you have a sterling reputation and discussing cheeks will not tarnish it!

Our sermon this morning was very moving and the church was packed. I don't think it was related to school starting tomorrow, but that all were desperate to hear our priest's take on the convention. He repeated the word "angry" over and over and said our bishop is working on a pastoral letter soon to be be sent to all of us. I had hoped it would've been there, waiting for us, but patience is an acquired virtue and I'm working on it. ;)

They have conveniently forgotten the part where Jesus tells them that Sodom should have repented. Then you can ask them what He might have been talking about.

i am sure the letter will not be an easy one to write, and there can be no doubt that your bishop knows what a very important and eagerly awaited one it is.
