We are planning a trip to Disney next summer and discovered this banner during our process:
Countdown to Gay Day 2004 (It all starts June 3, but the BIG day is Saturday, June 5, 2004)
I have been to Disney a million times, but never during this event. I don't want to overreact to this, but I do not want my vacation to be intertwined with political srtife. Advice needed!

There is Universal Studios!...or select another week to go, as our family did.

you will see a bunch of sexual perverts dressed the way you would not want your children to see and defiling the landscape whenever they can

I wouldn't take kids there on a day like that.
No way.
Uh uh.

This doesn't answer your question, I know... but still I wonder: why is there a Gay Day in the first place at a children's amusement park?

The only thing is, they spill over to other parks also. You never know what you are going to run into. It's like gay mania, rainbow flags from city hall in orlando, etc. You won't be able to escape from the PC nastiness.
Your visit may be uneventful except for tons of people wearing in-your-face shirts, or you may run into a bunch of exhibitionists who think that what you need to be cured of your homophobia is to be exposed to lots and lots of gay smooching and grabbing. (I think many gays don't realize that most normal people find such displays by heteros low class and distasteful).
If you possibly can, try and change your dates - it will save you a lot of anxiety.

You will probably want to plan your trip for a time other than the beginning of June. The "Gay Day" celebration is not just at WDW but in other parts of Orlando too so Universal Studios may not be the answer either.

Do yourself a favor. Just don't go there at that time.

Number 8 is exactly right. Last night, O'Reilly showed footage of many instances of homosexual sex right out in the open during Gay Days at Disney World. If they are actually doing each other, you can bet a lot of them will be falling all over each other and making public displays of affection. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my grandchildren desensitized to the whole thing by viewing that behavior at a young age. I want it to make them sick when they finally do see it and are old enough to understand the nature of perversion.

It's just another visit to San Francisco....

My first wife and I went to a Pacific Bell night at Disneyland in California. Not until after we entered the park did we find out why long lines of men were walking throught the park with their arms on each other's shoulders. These groups were anywhere from four to twelve people wide. It was also "Gay Pride Night".
I've also had the pleasure (not) of attending a homosexual night at the Hollywood Bowl. We didn't know about that either until we were sitting in our seats. I, my second wife and about three of her friends were sitting in our seats, when eight homosexual men sat right behind us. For the next two and a half hours these men groped each other's crotches, kissed and generally made complete asses out of themselves. All this for the shock value.
Basicly the same thing was going on at Disneyland. Yesterday I viewed some video on FoxNews that had been taken at Disneyworld on "Gay Pride Night". Men were humping other men. The scene was partially blocked, but neither of them had shirts on. I'm not sure of the rest. The motions were about as vile as you could imagine. This is what takes place in parks that you take your children to.
Walt would be mortified...

Gay Day 2004 Simple solution: Don't go to Disney those days. You might also want to send a strongly worded message to Disney that you feel their apparent promotion of the gay lifestyle to be offensive and you will not be spending your money at any Disney owned businesses and will be encouraging your friends and associates to do likewise.
They're a business, they only care about the bottom line. If they believe the gay day hurts their bottom line, they'll stop promoting it.

This has been going on a few years now.....and I can only expect it has gotten worse.
When it first started, I was part of a group that protested it, and when folks would stop their cars-(with children inside)-- asking what was going on, we would advise them to go to Sea World--(which has a LOT to offer, I might add)
It's just one more venue they want to claim ownership....
..actually, it seems they really romp it up the most on Pleasure Island during that weekend.
Pleasure Island is also part of Disney and connects to Disney Village...
It contains 'hip' restaurants like Planet Hollywood, Emeril's, other eateries,....and a huge Virgin Record Store, and smaller shops.
Trust me, it will be an 'in your face' experience, and you do not want children around.

Forget Disney... it's boring and the lines are long.... plus having to explain to my 6,8,10 and 12 year old why two guys are holding hands and "acting silly"... or why two girls that look like guys are doing the same..... well my 12 year old now knows what "homosexual" means.... and that it's a perversion and is mentioned in the bible... my little ones can wait.
go to Busch Garden in Tampa or Sea World, Universal is good and if you are in the area .. Kennedy Space Center is kinda neat.
Just avoid the area if you don't want the occasional spectacle of two people of the same sex "noodling". (barf alert)

If you even half to ask about it, then you probably should go somewhere else for vacation.
Not just that week -- ANY WEEK. There is no reason for normal, decent families to support Disney anymore.
To: hilaryrhymeswithrich
Every day is "Gay Day" at Disney World - a huge majority of the employees there are gay.
If you believe in supporting that "lifestyle", by all means go!
