but why are some in shorts and some in uniform? cuz they're undisciplined army dogs...
chapel is probably an informal setting... come as your are...
Marines would never invest the time, money, or energy to build this kinda chapel... it's wonderful, don't get me wrong... but the Corps kicks down the door and kills everyone inside... then leaves... then the Army moves in with their lazyboys and bigscreen TVs... it's not wrong, just a different mindset... the Marines are expeditionary... we know we won't be in one place long enuff to pretty it up... besides... we ain't got the cash... when the Army rolls in, it's fer an extended period...
this does not apply to the Marine Air Wing... they live large...

I have a lot of neices and nephews. They all think I'm all that, and pie. My mom is not a grandmotherly type. I kinda play the part for all my siblings and their children. And I do it so well, being such a little hobbit lass. They'll be talking about me for a while. :)

yer dad would understand why a jarhead would say that about so'jers... cuz it's true... and he would prob'ly agree that showin' up to chapel in PT gear would never have happened in his day... but is systemic in the kinder, gentler army...
