The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The Loving Months

Are May & June

the only months 

love can live 

or can it be as 

oxidized silver...

Drawn out from 

a drawer,

cleaned, buffed 

to a new brilliance?


Can this happen 

for an old love 

whose fire lies cold?


Or is it best  to leave

old, cold ashes 

resting undisturbed 

as the dead?

Good morning! Thought I'd get the first post on the first full day of HHIV before heading off to work. It's rainy here. I'm not looking forward to today. See you all tonight!

Got a busy one here. Just last week when I was crowing about publishing before our resident strange guy, I decided to double check a teensy-tiny wittle detail in a computer model. It was like pulling a thread on a sweater- the whole thing unraveled. I now have three huge cans of worms to work through- could take days, could take months.

I'm never gonna publish *sniff*.

But I am going to go register for another grad school pre-req today. Yaaaay! (I think.)

School starts in three weeks. Don't know if I'm looking forward to it or not. I love taking classes but I'll have no time at all once it starts...

But seriously... For many many guys (all the decent guys, anyway) making the first move to express interest in a girl is really hard to do. Most of the time it almost requires some hint of interest on the girls' part to get us over the hurdle. Even a smile or some eye contact, but better yet some idle chitchat...

Thanks...here's hoping there's some interest on his side! I've been rehearsing about a zillion scenarios for the conversation with his sister and/or a conversation with him. Hopefully ONE of them will stay in my mind when I'm there Saturday. If nothing else, honest blurting may get me somewhere, I dunno!

Lil and Jen, I'm really pulling for you on that grad school! One of the reasons that I took this job and moved 200 miles from home was the opportunity to finish and get just my bachelors. I haven't done anything about that yet, but I did get accepted into the school here.

2J, letters from chaplain! Have we got a new guy's name yet? I was trying to read the emails from yesterday and discern whether we had a new contact or not but it wasn't clear.
