The Loving Months

Are May & June

the only months 

love can live 

or can it be as 

oxidized silver...

Drawn out from 

a drawer,

cleaned, buffed 

to a new brilliance?


Can this happen 

for an old love 

whose fire lies cold?


Or is it best  to leave

old, cold ashes 

resting undisturbed 

as the dead?
