The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Okay, where is the troll, is he still at it and what's the background? I imagine it would take an hour to catch up on all *those* posts!

It's taken me all evening just to get caught up here. I don't have the energy for troll-baiting, even as a spectator.

Okay, I've read the troll thread through post 21 and I'm already ticked enough to be seeing red!!!

Isn't performing service without pay akin to socialism? I know, I'm saying it on the wrong thread... but I ain't to the ending of the other one yet.

It was probably in the 70's today, or close to it. Very nice day. Evenings are cool, but not harshly so.

Forgot to buy some water. The beer is cheaper, so I'm drinking that for the moment. :-)

Careful...hair got called a socialist for saying something along those lines.

And NOW to bed, and NOW to bed!

SSQ was saying tonight that this thing could hamper groups like Unions who tend to purchase advertising bashing their opponents just before the election when it's hard to respond. His understanding is that groups CAN do advertising in the 60 day time period before the election, but it has to have been paid for and scheduled BEFORE the 60 day window begins. AND it has to be make public that the purchase has been done. That way, the opponent can see that something is coming and buy his or her own advertising to counter it. This precludes the ambush 2 or 3 days before the election; the opponent knows that something is coming, even if not exactly what.

Somehow, this does not surprise me dear. Matter of fact, I was wondering last night why you were looking for water instead of alcohol. Weren't you concerned that your blood alcohol level would drop exceedingly low? :-)

Wish it was in the 70's here today. *sigh*

What's on the agenda tomorrow? Just flying home? or more work first?

More work for a little while in the morning. Nothing big, just gotta nail down my budget for next year. Nothing important.

but I am VEY quiet in groups of more than 2 or 3 people. I don't like to be there and if I am, I can never think of anything to say.

Somehow, I think Entmoot will be a breakin that pattern!

Got SuziQ's Yellowstone report posted,

Woo Hoo! Thanks! I'll send the link to Paul. He helped a lot in getting the pictures done, even suggesting some interesting placements, etc.,and he's anxious to see how they turned out up on the site!

Since it's such a small thing for you, I will send you my departmental budget next August and you can do that for me! :-)

Ya'll are funny! Hasn't it occurred to you that when we all actually meet we will each be a little different than anticipated? I think that will be one of the funnest parts!

hehehe...

Is joke. I hate budgeting. It's a major big deal for me, and it's about the most senseless thing I do. We spend what we have to for the stuff we need, and we don't know even three months in advance what we're gonna need. Planning a year out is an entertaining but senseless excercise...

I know it will be strange at first, but methinks that will last only a vey short time!!
