In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. 1. The quality of being discerning, sound in judgment, and farsighted; wisdom.
2. The quality of being sagacious; quickness or acuteness of sense perceptions; keenness of discernment or penetration with soundness of judgment; shrewdness.
3. Ability to make good judgments.
4. The mental ability to form an opinion by distinguishing and evaluating.

That's strange, I always considered the 4th of July to be the start of summer, not the midpoint.
To me the midpoint of summer was always the first week of August.

maybe bc you don't have a schoolage child? summer starts mid to early june at our house, when they get out of school for summer vaca. your perspective changes when you become ruled by the school calendar. xshub and i, prior to children, would always go to the beach the last week of august first week of Sept, after the families with kids were all in school and the places cleared out. Now we live on the school sched.

well yeah, we have had rain. it rained last night, and tstorms forecast for this afternoon. the weekend was gorgeous though, low humidity and not overly hot.
