**** FR Big Brother 4 Thread ****

It's summer once again, which means it is time for what many dub "the ultimate reality show", Big Brother! For 3 months, 13 contestants, or "houseguests" must live together in a one-story house with absolutely NO contact from the outside world, while cameras and microphones capture their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, one houseguest is voted out with the sole remaining houseguest taking home half a million dollars.

This year, the producers have introduced the "X-Factor" to Big Brother. 10 of the 13 houseguests were stunned to find out that an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend of theirs was also a houseguest.

I have once again given up any hope of having a life this summer and have shelled out the $10 a month to watch the houseguests 24 hours a day on the internet.

Let's meet this years crop of contestants...

Alison

Job: Retail Manager
Age: 22
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Pittsburgh, PA
Jeff's Comments: Alison, while seeming sweet, is definitely this year's "house ditz". Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Recall last season when Lisa, considered far from the smartest houseguest took home the $500,000 prize.

Amanda

Job: Bar Manager
Age: 25
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Chicago, IL
Jeff's Comments: Amanda and her ex Scott had some turbulent moments when they were first thrust back together. As of earlier today, though, they seem to be getting along quite well. According to chatter on the Internet feeds, expect Amanda to go sooner rather than later.

Dana

Job: Karate School Manager
Age: 28
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Queens, NY
Jeff's Comments: Dana is one of three houseguests without an ex in the game. She has quite the feisty atitude, and I expect her to be involved in manty arguments, leading up to her getting booted around week 5 or so.

David

Job: Former Army Ranger
Age: 21
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Deerfield Beach, FL
Jeff's Comments:David seems like a great guy with a super sense of humor. However, I expect the houseguests to be intimidated by his experince as a Ranger, and to give him the boot mid-game.

Erika

Job: Pilates Instructor
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Los Angeles, CA
Jeff's Comments: This girl might just take it all the way. As seen in episode 2, she is not in the house to "have a good time" or "make new friends", she's in it to win it. From watching the Internet feeds, it seems as if she's already incorporating the "fly below the radar" strategy, that more often than not a good one. Also, she's a dead ringer for last year's winner, Lisa.

Jack

Job: Retired FBI Agent
Age: 58
Marital Status: Divorced
Hometown:Birmingham, AL
Jeff's Comments: Jack seems to be a very nice guy, looking much youger than his 58 years. If he can overcome the age barrier and assimilate with the other houseguests, he'll go far. Unfortunately, around week 9 or so, he will succomb to the Big Brother "middle age man curse" and get booted a la George, Kent, and Gerry in previous seasons.

Jee

Job: Bookkeeper
Age: 23
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Elmhurst, NY
Jeff's Comments: Since entering the house, the most strained ex-couple is definitely Jee and Jun (say it out loud, it's fun). Jee seems to be a down-to-earth fellow who gets along well with all of the houseguests othjer than Jun. If he can survive the first few weeks, he will be a contender to win it all.

Jun

Job: Investment Manager
Age: 27
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:New York, NY
Jeff's Comments: Jun (pronounced June) is this years house chef. That alone will allow her to finish in the top half. Since being reunited, Jun has spent a total of literally less than one minute speaking to her boyfriend of 5 and a half years, Jee.

Justin

Job: Headhunter
Age: 22
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Pittsburgh, PA
Jeff's Comments: Alison's ex, Justin has been surprisingly quiet thusfar in the game. I'm going to wait a few days before making a prediction on how he will do.

Michelle

Job: College Student
Age: 19
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Boca Raton, FL
Jeff's Comments: At 19 years old, the beautiful Michelle is the youngest houseguest in Big Brother history. I predict tht she will be out within the first 3 weeks, otherwise, she will be one of the final three, as a result of the other houseguests underestimating her due to her age. On the Internet feeds, she has stated on numerous occasions that she drinks, so it should be interesting to see if she trys to sneak a few as the season goes on, and if so, what Big Brother's reaction to underage drinking in the house will be.

Nathan

Job: Personal Trainer
Age: 23
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Edmond, OK
Jeff's Comments: Nathan is the "stud" of the house this year. Recall Hardy from season 2 and Roddy from season 3. The ladies of the house have already gone ga-ga for him. I'm predicting a week 6-7 eviction for Nathan, as the "stud" never wins any reality show, ever.

Robert

Job: Restaurasnt Manager
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Los Angeles, CA
Jeff's Comments: Robert is another houseguest who I have not had much of a chance to observe on the Internet feeds. The one bit of information I was able to gather about him is that he was an alcoholic, and recovered a few years ago with the help of his father. I have a suspicion that Robert may have a bit of an attitude, but if he can keep it under control, watch for him at the end.

Scott

Job: Waiter
Age: 33
Marital Status: Single
Hometown:Chicago, IL
Jeff's Comments: Get used to the knit cap you see in Scott's head shot, as he has it on constantly. This guy cusses like it's going out of style. As entertaining as he is to watch, I expect Scott to have a fair share of conflicts with the houseguests and get booted early.

Tommorrow, I will provide links to great web sites devoted to Big Brother to help further enhance your viewing pleasure this year. If you would like to get pinged to this thread when it is updated, either let me know ion this thread or FReepmail me. If you know of anyone who might be interested in this thread, please let them know.

I like Jee too. I was just thinking that last night. He gets carried away with the antics of Robert and Justin, but there is something about Jee that I like. (Maybe it's the way that he brushes his teeth).

Sometimes when I disagree with an artist over politics, its not so much for what they say, but how they say it.

Barbra Streisand is a complete liberal, but I still like her.

Julia Roberts, on the other hand, has totally turned me off with her "Who would want to be a Republican?" spiel.

Maybe, because I didn't hear Jack say it, I can overlook it... but, I am very disappointed in him. Not because he dislikes Bush, but how can anyone in their right mind, ever, ever defend Bill Clinton.

Your right, maybe I can overlook it but I doubt it.

Another thing is that it really doesn't bother me for some reason that Erika was having the same exact conversation, and I kind of like her too. Maybe it's because Jack is FBI, and he isn't worried about a President that perjures himself in front of a grand jury. I was never a huge fan of the impeachment (mainly because I couldn't stand the thought of Gore as Pres.), but to hear an FBI agent saying it's only a little lie, kind of pisses me off!

I'm not surprised at Jack's remark as I've never considered him very bright.

I wrote at #143 on this thread: "Actually, I like Jack but I'm not impressed with him at all. I think he's a poor strategist. He shouldn't have been surprised when things started going awry for the original eight and should not, for his own good, have stuck with the original strategy when the alliance started coming apart. He's sincere but not even slightly wily. If he's one of the FBI's finest, we're all in big trouble"

DO NOT READ NEXT PARAGRAPH IF YOU DIDN'T READ THE WHITE SPOILER

With no one but Jack left in the original alliance, Erika may think twice about nominating two stooges....she possibly thinks she needs to stay on their good side, and what if one of them wins veto power again? But of course, with even one of the stooges voted out, the house would reshuffle like crazy. Big fun!

Robert won America's Choice and received a letter from his daughter.

Wow, that was a surprising choice!

I only got to watch the first half of the show last night, but it was pretty good!

I don't think I would have done too well with getting locked with a bunch of people in that little cage. That was so gross when Jun either peed or pretended to pee in the cage!

I'm glad that Jee made the right decision while he was in the cage with Jack, Allison & Ericka. Hopefully that will help him.

Okay... at first, I thought you were a little mean-spirited toward Jack. But, after last night's veto competition, I think you were being very generous.

Unless Jack is throwing the competitions on purpose, there is no reason to have it take 18 minutes to focus five cameras on five pictures.

Good afternoon. Eviction Wednesday is upon us once again. Tonight, the "3 Stooges" alliance will become the "2 Stooges". The only question is whether it will be Justin or Robert surviving the vote.

As Julie Chen revealed to us on last week's live show, we will find out this year's "twist" tonight. In my humble opinion, I believe this twist will have something to do with the sequestration house where Dana and Nathan have been living. I doubt an evicted houseguest will be returning to the game a la Amy from BB3.

I'd love to hear some predictions on what this twist might be from y'all. Enjoy the show!

Well, they do have an extra week to kill because of Scott's untimely departure.

Maybe they will bring either one of the evicted back in, or put another "ex" in that hadn't been in there before?!?!

I like the idea of sequestered jury televised for all to see with their game faces down and true fangs, horns and claws revealed. Addition of new exes might be fun, but isn't it a little late in the game? Jack has an ex? That's the only one missing.

Yes, Jack's either not very bright or playing a very convincing game of stupid. But he's still standing, so how stupid is he after all?

Last night, after Jack rolled that ball, my thoughts turned against him. Come on, Jack.

The new twist challenges their character. Maybe they are going to offer people a chance to take a cash payout and leave the show.

I'm wondering if there's any clue in Julie's saying "We told you from the beginning, don't get too comfortable in the BB house.".

My Husband suggested maybe they are going to remove all the mattresses. My guess was that for one week the Survivor cast and BB cast would trade spaces. lol (I don't even know if there is a Survivor cast out there right now!).

Anyway, she said the twist begins today (Thurs), if I understood her correctly. Would love to hear something from the live feeds!

I'd love to hear from anyone with a live feed also.

I loved the looks on their faces when she said "We told you from the beginning - expect the unexpected".

Especially Allison - she really didn't look too happy!

Howdy All. Last night was quite an eventful one in the Big Brother house. Without any further delay, below in white-text, I reveal....

THE TWIST!!!

And what a dud this twist turned out to be. It was a bit complicated, so I'll try my best to explain it. Feel free to ask for clarification if need be.

Each houseguest was placed in different room in the house, isolated form each other. One by one, each houseguest spoke with Julie Chen. They were offered both immunity from nomination this week as well as the Power of Veto if they agreed to put the rest of the houseguests (not themselves) on peanut butter and jelly for
a.)One Week
b.)Two Weeks
c.)Four Weeks
d.)The remaining time in the game

Their decisions were made in private without knowing what the other houseguests decided. The winner was based on who accepted the PB&J the longest. For instance, if houseguest A chose one week and houseguest B chose two weeks, houseguest B would receive immunity and PoV and the rest of the house would be on PB&J for two weeks. Following me so far?

Anyhow, Jee was the only houseguest to accept the offer, as he chose one week. Being the current Head of Household, this screwed up any hope of the twist being at all interesting, as he effectivly canceled the veto competition for this week.

Later last night, Jee nominated Erika and Jack for eviction. Being that there is now no Veto competition this week, one of them is sure to go on Wednesday. :-(

The only glimmer of hope I have is the fact that on the live show Wednesday, Julie mentioned that the twist BEGAN on Thursday, so maybe we will be pleasantly surprised in the next few days.

Thanks for the update. This show is I suspect going to turn out to be as big a bummer as did The Amazing Race. I don't know if I will be able to continue to watch as Jee and Robert booger pick their way into the finals.

I have really developed a strong dislike for Robert. The other night when he boo hooed over his letter from home. (Having been gone a grand total of 40 some days) notwithstanding the fact that thousands of our service men and women have been gone and in harm's way for a hell of a lot longer than that, I wanted to hurl.
