I have heard a rumor saying that Arnold Schwarzenagger(can anyone spell that name for me, because I'm sure I killed it!) might be considering running for govenor of California if Davis gets recalled. Has anyone else heard this and/or what do ya'll think?
To: LionsDaughter
Talk of Arnold running for Gov. of California have been all over the news. Time will tell.

Check out this article in The American Spectator (
Article here, under 'Gov. Barbarian' ;-))...Schwarzenegger has been politically active with his children's physical education program, and according to some people, he is using his team as a kind of dry run for Gov...
Hey, The Terminator can't do any worse than Gray Davis, and it would be fun watching him duke it out with the far-left Ca. Assembly...;-)
To: Bitwhacker
Okay. I still not quite sure what I think of Arnold as a politician (mostly given that he's never actually run for anything before), but if his values are reflected in the movies that he's chosen to act in, then he might not do so badly.
To: LionsDaughter
Well, Arnold appears to be a values-oriented, personal responsibility, hard work kinda person (well, as much as Hollywood can produce). He's married to Maria Schriver (a Kennedy clan member and flaming Democrat). Arnold appears to have sown wild oats when he came to America, so it should be interesting to see how he handles 'opposition research'..;-)
I don't know what to think of him, other than that I have heard he surrounds himself with excellent people and has a really good feel for money, business and people...Then again, he may turn out to be another Jesse Ventura...;-))

And Jesse Ventura, while somewhat of a disappointment, was head and shoulders above Gray Davis.

(4-day weekends RULE!)
To: Iowa Granny; kayak; *ATRW
Hi all! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! My brother came down from Atlanta to go to Daytona with us for the race, and they kept me busy all weekend slinging food and bringing them beers. Sheesh. ;-)
Speaking of NASCAR, did you all hear that Bob Graham is sponsoring a Craftsman Truck Series team owned by Jack Roush? A new way to campaign, I suppose. I think I will call him and tell him that it's a great idea, but since the Craftsman Truck Series doesn't get that much coverage, he should sponsor a Busch Team, since lots of people follow the Busch Series. Think he'd catch on? ;-)
kayak...a little tidbit for you. Warren Sapp did an interview at the track on MRN Radio during the race and he made the following comment:
"Ya know, a lot of people tell me that I look a lot bigger on TV than I do in person. But..wow...Jeff Gordon! I met him in the garage area today..and that boy is small..I'm talking appetizer size!!!"
The fans at the track were screaming with laughter....

Howdy all. Just wanted to drop in for a few minutes then I'm off. BBQ is near, golf tournament is nearer, Thursday night dinner for early arrivals is nearerer, so we're busy.
Roomey is doing his yearly cleaning of the garage. lol.
Nita, I'm just going to have to put you on my "complete coverage prayer list". Spider bites can be rather nasty. I'm glad to see you're going to the Dr.

I joked in another thread that Cupertino was too broke to have a fireworks display this year -- that instead they hired some illegal aliens to run around with lighters, shouting "Boom!" ROFLOL!!!! Thanks for the laugh...
