We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Prime Minister of Canada announced that Nation will amend its laws to allow for a union of homosexuals they are choosing to refer to as "marriage."

Senator Hatch announced he favors the idea of creating technology that would remotely destroy an individual's computer that is illegally downloading music from the Internet after being twice warned.

The American Medical Association endorsed cloning "for medical research" only.

The second night of riots occurred in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

The Pope has accepted the resignation of Phoenix Bishop Thomas O'Brien.

Researchers are finding that a byproduct of nicotine may actually shield the brain from Alzheimer's disease.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I expect that many in custody are singing and trying to work deals so they get to see something besides striped sunlight. When something like the Bathist regime falls, the only ones that come out ok are the ones that flip quickly and sing loudly. That's probably being carefully explained.

Dog, I actually heard that on the radio early this morning. I haven't heard anything about it, either on the radio or on Tv since then.

Oops, but then I forgot to add that I hardly watch TV - just listen to FOX while my hubby watches - so I could easily miss something.

Molly,

I've just returned home from Borders. There was a huge display right inside the door, of you-know-who's book. (This made it a little difficult to do any rearranging!) But it appeared to me that about two were missing from the piles. And I watched to see how many were picked up or even looked at, while I was there........zero.

CT, having worked on numerous campaigns over the course of my life, I agree with you about the phone banks. And with the current backlash about tele-marketing phone calls, and people signing up in droves to get on no-call lists, I sincerely hope the GOP rethinks its strategy of the possible ways to identify voters and get-out-the-vote. The phone needs to be used sparingly, if at all.

I agree about the phone banks. If they are wanting to get out the vote, a combination of free rides to the polls (call this number if you need a ride), appearances at senior centers, and booths at community fairs would be the best way.

Maybe on the night before the eletion, ONE call to remind people to vote, and maybe a call on election day to see if they need a ride.

I think one of the best phone "stealth" strategies I ever learned was on this very thread, during campaign 2000. I don't remember whose idea it was, but y'all were talking about putting a message on your answering machines.

Mine became: "Hello, I'm not home right now, because I'm out campaigning for George W. Bush. Leave me a message and I'll call you back, the day after the election!"

I took that one to HQ here, and it spread like wildfire!

Oh, I remember that! I don't know whose idea it was, but it was a great idea!

I am pooped...worked outside a lot today. Tomorrow I have the grandkids, so I am going to go to bed. I will check in tomorrow every now and then.

Good night, all!

I just got a report from Dad. I had to call him. He had a PET scan on Monday. The cancer is back, it's more spread out. The docs are debating what to do.

I ask for prayers for God's Will in my father's life. And prayers for the family in accepting God's Will. This I ask in the Name of Jesus.

The system that works is the one that was used for years by the Democratic party.

The concept is the precinct worker and all contacts must be local and done by local people. It is true all winning politics IS LOCAL. The trick is to organize two or three workers in each precinct. A few weeks before the election, working from the voter registration lists and previous lists, they contact voters to urge them to vote. They offer transportation and a "nice personal gift" for doing your patriotic duty and letting the party take you to the polls for voting.

Then just before the election a second call to set up a time to pick them up or remind them to vote. Again the call is from the same neighborhood precinct worker that resides in the same neighborhood as the voter. Then on election day a final reminder call, then pick them up and transport to the polls and finally "the presentation of a little monetary gift" upon return to the pick up point.

The key is the calls have to be from a local precinct worker. It has to be from someone that the prospective voter knows or knows about. All low level political jobs are handled by the precinct worker too. That gives the precinct worker clout.

Each day for exercise I walk the levy (about 5 miles) along the Scioto river in my town. The city employees who mow the grass are hired by precinct workers when there is a Democrat mayor. Yes they have to go apply at the city building... but if the precinct worker has not OKed them they will not be hired.

If the precinct worker does not know the person called, he introduces him or herself as, "My Name is Xxxx Xxxxxx, and I live on yyyyy street here in ZZZZZZZZ. I am calling you to ask your ........................"

That does not tick people off. Recorded messages on an automated phone bank tick people off a lot.

The story that the vote in the Senate race in Louisiana was lost by the Republicans only after a call to a black boss at four O'Clock in the afternoon on election day is just not credible. It takes a ton of work using an on the ground organization to get out the Democratic black vote. For decades my Dad was tasked with turning out 4 to 10 thousand such votes every major election day. It is not a switch that can be turned on or off with zero prior notice.

To say that blacks can be organized to vote or not vote with a phone call to a black boss on election day afternoon is one of the most unknowing statements I have ever read. Yes 90 plus percent of blacks are Democrats and yes a huge percentage of them claim to be Christian too. That is why their political leaders need to be called Reverend Jackson or Reverend Al Sharpton or Reverend something or other. But to think a Black preacher could have thousands of blacks set up to not go to church and then in less than a day flip to a situation where they go to church is ridiculous. To think a black leader could get thousands of blacks to not vote and in well less than a day get them to vote is beyond belief.

It is truly an example of racially ignorant white Republicans lying to themselves.
