The leftist swine media are back on a rant about Gitmo - The New York Times is carrying a piece that laments about the conditions the detainees had to go through. The Times did say there wasn't any physical mistreatment, just isolation such that some detainees thought of suicide. Still waiting to read their expose on the families of the Trade Center victims and how they feel about all this.

Ed Gillespie will likely be replacing Marc Racicot as head of the RNC when the committee votes next month.

And as to what must be frustrating to the Criminal Party, newly released financial statements from the Administration show the President's advisors as somewhat better off than the average American but, even in the words of the Washington Pravda, not rich.

Just a quick reply to your observations, Jane, about Al Quaeda and plots. I just realized as I flew to and from Miami a couple of weeks ago, that only MEN were being pulled over to be searched at the checkpoints at the airports. Coming home to SLC I counted six men, 20s to 40s being searched with wands, and being taken into rooms to do body searches. I've flown quite a bit since 9/11, and that is the first time I've seen that many men being pulled aside. Usually it is grandmas and teenage girls. This time it was men. Where's my tinfoil hat? :)

Interesting observation. I have never screamed as loud as some people about grandma-types, young blondes, etc. being searched. It has seemed inevitable to me that if they only singled out young mid-eastern-looking males that soon the terrorists would find people of different types who were in sympathy with them. I think that the young mid-eastern guys should get the majority of the attention but that others should also be searched, randomly.

I haven't flown since 9/11 so can't speak from personal experience but from what I've read on FR, it sounds like the most likely candidates get the red carpet treatment and others are put under the microscope ..... which seems like a waste of resources. But they didn't ask for my opinion ..... *grins*
