Sorry. I've looked but I can't see where you ask for help in fixing a FreeRepublic "bug".
When I click on "my comments" nothing shows up later then 5/25. I've posted since.

I have a similar problem. I can't use MS Explorer on one of my pcs with FR because when I click on "my comments", it shuts the browser. I use Mozilla on that pc when I want to be on FR. Maybe someone can help me with that problem. (I won't hold my breath)

Sorry but you are in a time warp. Wait several days for your new posts. Do you want to know what's going on in the future?

Have you tried posting a comment directly to John Robinson in your "TO" post?
I'm doubting Jim or John read every thread on the forum and you have to get their attention by addressing the question(s) to the person who can help you.

I know. And "new posts to you" shows but when I click on it I get this (at top as latest), (and it doesn't change)

Have you tried posting a comment directly to John Robinson in your "TO" post? I haven't asked them because I'm fairly sure that the problem is related to my software and not theirs. I'm guessing they have better things to do than be a "help desk" for me. That's why I asked for a freebie from you guys. :^}

Well.....just FYI.....in case this helps or makes a difference.
I have two computers.
One has Win 98SE....the other WinXP for the OS.
I run IE as a browser with both...and have no problems with FR.

I have eight computers with all kinds of browsers and opertaing systems, it only happens on one. I suspect a corrupt program but I've dled a new one and installed it with no effect, so I'm kinda stumped for the time being.

Sounds like a simple data clog. People will charge you an arm and a leg to fix this, but it's something you can take care of yourself. Unplug the phone line (or cable, as the case may be) from your modem (or network card). Blow into the line as hard as you can for about 3 seconds. This will clear the line of any backed up data. After that, fragment your hard drive into 30 or more partitions and sort them in alphabetical order. Adjust the color on your monitor and you're done.

Fill out a proper 27B-stroke-6 and forward it to Central Services.
You can't expect anything to be done without a 27B/6!

The end furthest away from the clog, of course. You wouldn't want to blow the clog all the way back through the line, would you?!

Remember to keep your lips and teeth off the actual pug of a phone line.
If the line were to ring while contact is being made......

Found the reason.
Someone's badly formatted post to me (at least badly formatted for my browser- kind of in two panes) stopped anything further from showing.
Now you know. If it happens to you.
