Lone Star Chat
Texas ^ | Saturday, May 10, 2003 | A Texan

Rally for America!

Our Texas Locale page recently got very busy on the unusual topic of Ouija boards and such. Archy suggested a Lone Star Thread That Will Not Die. Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts.

This is not my thread and I'm not going to baby sit it every day. I just gathered the kindling and y'all have to start the fire.

What was his nickname for me????

He called you "The Glock Guy" until I straightened him out
and gave him a better nickname for you. ;-)

Tony's in Houston is where I had my best steak, but it is too expensive to go there often.

Try Pappas Steak House. Being a Pappas restaurant, I thought it might be just OK, but the steaks there are very good, high quality and cooked to near-perfection.

Your little girls are cutie-pies and it looks like you're bringing them up just right. When they start dating, you won't even need to be cleaning your gun when the pimply, raging-hormoned boys arrive. Those girls will be able to handle problems like that all on their own.

Who is Stephen DeVoy ?????

Some weird, paranoid liberal, maybe anarchist guy who signed up for an FR account, posted out some diseased diatribe and was zotted by the AM last week. Some of the guys on here know more about him. He has a website and it looks like something sponsored by a looney bin.

They're coming to take me away..ha ha..ho ho..hee heee...

a week in the best vacation spot in our great state: New Braunfels, Texas...

Some of the Houston gang will be near there this Saturday to do some serious shooting. Maybe y'all can cross paths.

Official New Mexican Disruptor

If you check my profile page you will see I say my favorite place is somewhere between Santa Fe and Taos. You can disrupt as long as you keep the welcome mat out for me.

I go to Port Aransas every other week. The island has sure changed in the last 15 or so years. It's no longer the sleepy fishing center it used to be.
Today it has many places to stay from cabins to hotel rooms to condominiums. There's palm trees lining the road from the ferry and they have a great parks system as well.
Let me know what price range or size/type of place you want to stay at and I can rattle you off a few names and locations.
You are going to love it there. Very nice place.

Thats most weird wouldn't you say? There is so many cool things out there that we don't understand.

I have been up to the viewing area and did get the lights on video cam. Funny how they seem to dance around as they do.

Maybe one of these days I'll post the clip on my website.

Thanks for any info you can give me! My whole family (parents, siblings, and their kids) are all going and we want to stay in the same complex together, but not necessarily the same suite. We want condo/suites that are beach accessible, have a pool, kitchenettes, and clean.

Yes! My daughter goes to Rider! She will graduate the 31st though and is going back to San Antonio to seminary in the fall. :-( I'm gonna miss her. She's my baby. My older daughter is 27, her husband is an army platoon sergeant. He is currently in Baghdad but was stationed in Germany prior to deployment to Iraq. So, my older daughter and 2 grandkids are in Germany. I fixing to be left alone 200 miles from my nearest kin.

Yes I agree with you about the town being of a size to have more commercial establishements. You may laugh. When I got here the 2 stores I missed the most were HEB and Home Depot. Well, I don't have my HEB yet but that new Home Depot is opening June 1 right where the old WalMart was beside the Sam's!!! YES!! Right down from my house. I'm even thinking of applying for a part time job there so I can catch up on nearly 2 years of Home Depot withdrawal.

So far my favorite place I've found to eat here is a new place that's opened up just recently on Southwest Parkway called Buddy Ray's Kitchen. They've got good chicken fried steak. I like Pioneer okay but their chicken fry is just about paper thin. It's pretty good but just pounded out way to skinny.

Clean! Thats the big word! LOL

OK let's see, I would recommend The La Mirage, Port Royal, Mayan Princess, or The Dunes.

I have stayed at each of those are they are all located beachside, very clean, have pools, hot tubs and laundry service etc...

The Mayan Princess is my favorite by far. The staff is exceptional and the atmosphere is very caribbean and relaxing and the rooms are huge. You can see their website here: http://www.mayanprincesscondos.com

Right here! Not a lot of serious discussion there - mostly a way for the Houston gang to stay in touch every day.
